  1. I loved discovering VeganProteins.com http://veganproteins.com/vegan-protein-shop.html?start=0 from the front page. I feel like they offer only quality products since and their site isn't bogged down with so many options its hard to pick from. I also love the personal touches with every shipment I receive from them, it really shows that they care about their work and their customers.
  2. So I'm trying to bulk up. I'm keeping a food log and I notice that in the process of trying to add a lot of protein to hit that 1-2 grams per body weight number, it seems like I'm taking in a ton of carbs. I primarily eat whole foods and supplement with protein shakes. The carbs are coming from the legumes, oats and fruit. I don't really want to add just a ton of shakes to my daily plan. I already get about half my protein from shakes/bars and don't really want to add more (mainly for $$, also I just like the idea of whole food eating.) Since the carbs are from whole foods, should I really worry about them or will my body take care of it? I haven't felt myself gain much weight so I haven't been too concerned. An example of my breakfast meal shake this morning was 865 cals 28.65 fat 108.5 carbs and 54.3 protein. 15 grams of the fat came from pumpkin seeds, which for me the the health benefits out weight the higher fat. That is also my single biggest fat intake in one meal. exercise background. I lift three times a weekly with a trainer and I have been making consistent gains. After weights I hit a stair machine to burn 300 cals in as little time as possible, between 18-22 minutes. On non-weight days I take the dog for jogs, hike, walk etc. Thanks for all the help!
  3. Thank you guys for the support. This place is really amazing!
  4. Hello everyone. I'm Dave. I'm new to this forum. I'm 32, living around the Pasadena area of Los Angeles county and have been vegetarian for about 4 years. I'm working on being vegan. I'm like 99% there. I've lifted on and off for a numbers of years without much success. Recently, I've been suffering from low T levels (and everything associated with that) and dealing with a a family history of Alzheimer's. My father who is relatively young as been declining as of late. With no cure or way to prevent, my best shot is to be healthy. All of this has motivated me to get as healthy as possible and has given me the push to go 100% plant based and hit the gym. I even enlisted a trainer, from whom I've learned a lot from in the past month. My results have been slow and steady. I'm still trying to root out the cause of my low T so I think that is holding me back a little but it has given me the drive to work that much harder. So I'm glad to be here and meet you all.
