Martial Art Suggestions?

I recently returned from a business trip to Honduras where I saw Brazillian Judo fighters perform in the city of Valle. It really inspired me to study a martial art since I grew up in an area with a lot of school and street fighting and never really mentally recovered from my lost fights since my se...

z0rzz PFT Routine and Progress

Hey everyone. I'm just writing up my routine on this forum so I can mark progress somewhere online for myself and anyone else to see. The routine I am currently using to put on size is PFT (Perfect Form Theory), a style of lifting for natural bodybuilders that my good friend and trainer designed. It...

Re: Vacation - What to do to minimize the damage...

I left for a two week trip where I was unable to lift or purchase my own food, and the same thing will happen again in a few weeks. I've found that as long as I reached my ballpark maintenance caloric intake per day, my strength did not diminish to any far-reaching extent. When you return from your ...

Re: My progress - non-vegan and vegan.

Right now my diet is at a 500 calorie deficit 6 days a week, with a refeed (I simply eat my maintenance caloric intake) of a higher proportion of carbohydrates on my full body compound day since that day absolutely kills me if I'm not pumped full of nutrition. I also do HIIT training on the quarter ...

Re: My progress - non-vegan and vegan.

Unfortunately school and work keeps my schedule tight so I don't really do a lot of sports nowadays. : ( Every summer all of my old high school friends and I would play some backyard football and ultimate frisbee, but I'm working in my college town all of this summer and most of my friends here are ...

Re: NOW Soy Protein Isolate Quality?

Thanks guys. I eat a lot of seitan for my protein needs, so I always try to have tofu or another soy-based meal on the same day to make up for the lysine deficiency. Are soy products adequate lysine sources?

Re: Tempeh, store cooked?

Hmm. Sorry for the ill-advised advice. The vegans who taught me how to cook often ate their tempeh raw whilst they were seasoning it, hence my suggestion. Tempeh in general doesn't take very long to cook, though. There's been several times where I turned on the stove and threw a slab of it on while ...

Re: Creatine

Used creatine monohydrate after my workout for two years, months on and months off. I never noticed a difference whether I was on or off it so I simply gave all of my supply away a month ago. I know friends who swear by its effectiveness and water retention, but I just never noticed any improvements...

My progress - non-vegan and vegan.

Very unfortunate that before I started to seriously train near the end of fall last year I never got a shirtless picture of myself : / . Making do with these before pictures. http://i1259.photobucket.com/albums/ii560/z0rzz/Lollapalooza2011.png Taken at Lollapalooza 2011. Omnivore at this point. Weig...

Re: Tempeh, store cooked?

Eat it raw!

If you don't like the bland taste though (which is probable), here's what I've seen. A friend of mine frequently cooks hers and then stores it for easy microwaving later. She's been doing this for about a decade now and no visible negative side-effects so far.

Re: What are the bulkers eating???

Powders are just conveinent. Food will always out do them... x 2. x 3 and cannot be stressed enough. Supplements are just that - supplements. I see new lifters in my gym downing protein shakes during their workout. It's just so unfortunate because I used to do the same thing because of what stores ...

Re: NOW Soy Protein Isolate Quality?

Thanks Robert! I do eat a lot of soy at the moment but the price of the jug is what allured me, haha. I'll take your advice to heart - right now I'm using Sunwarrior Brown Rice protein, but lately it's been hard for me to choke down protein powder from brown rice and I was just looking for an altern...

NOW Soy Protein Isolate Quality?

Anyone had this before? Thoughts on its quality? One review stated that unflavored tastes like pancake batter... which is fortunate because I love the taste of pancake batter.

Hahaha thank you! My friend/trainer is the dark one on my friend list on the space. Very aesthetic, skilled and knowledgeable although he highly disapproves of my new lifestyle. : /

Re: I could use a hand

I'm not sure if it fits the budget or if you're okay with soy, but I devour raw tempeh like a demon. My friends constantly see me walking to class chewing on a stick of the stuff when I'm on the go. About 20g of protein per 200 calories, a little bit heavier and more fattening than seitan but defini...
