Cool!
They've got some nice hemp wear (that someone posted about earlier): somewhat fashionable, and not as 'granola-y' as some!

I feel bad for small farmers. They're caught between my love of social justice and my love of animals. I think possibly educating small farmers about animal rights and converting them over to just being pure plant farmers. But in the mean time i hope the cows can get even with their captors. I agre...

Could you pin that thread to the top of this section? (Then you'll avoid getting this question again. ;-) )

I'll pass on the banana chips and p.b., as it's hard enough keeping the pounds off as is! I love dried bananas: the kind you can make in a dehydrator, that have nothing added (blended banana and other fruit also makes a pretty mean fruit roll-up when dried). But the banana 'chips' in stores are usua...

i don't know if its bad in any way but I do hear its good for cholesterol...although none of us eat any cholesterol anyhow. True, but one can still have elevated cholesterol if one consumes too much fat, even vegetable fat. And some high cholesterol is genetic. (Though I'm not sure that any dietary...

I've read that canola/rapeseed has caused cancer or liver damage in animals (pigs?) . Whatever it was, it made me avoid Canola from then on. I agree with Dr. Fuhrman, that oils are just processed foods, and it's best to limit their consumption. I avoid them as much as possible (but do get them when ...

I've read that the average person swallows around 20 insects a year in their sleep.

Growth in organics: is it for real?

Lately, I've been seeing more and more organic foods in my local store and even in Walmart, and I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, I think it's great that I don't have to drive 45 minutes away to find a store that has a good selection of organic produce, since I try to eat organic as...

Upright rows are a move that are rather controversial. I've read several trainers (PT's, people with degrees in kinesiology and/or expertise in body building) who are very much opposed to them, because they can aggravate or cause shoulder problems, especially impingement problems. I personally choos...

Re: Food Fight is carrying Vega Smoothie Infusion!

The deal is still on and the offer is still there. Please refresh my memory: what is the deal? re: what minimum order of Vega products from Food Fight qualifies? TIA Also: I'd like to spread the Vega word to others (for example, some budding Vegans on other fitness forums I'm on). Would it be possi...

I highly recommend Dr. Fuhrman's "Gentle Care". It is well researched, and doesn't contain potentially dangerous ingredients, like vitamin A or isolated carotenes.

The only cashew apple I"ve ever heard of is the fruit that cashew nuts are attached to. I didn't know they were edible, or that they sold them. Maybe there is something else called a 'cashew apple"?

What a beautiful tortie she is! I once had a black and orange (no white, though) tortie named "Sweat-Pea." The sweetist kitty (though my vet seems to think that tortie are notoriously temperamental). I now have two grey and tan torties. I'm sorry to hear you'll be losing her. I think it's ...

I, actually the vet and my daughter and me, had to make the heart wrenching decision to put her to sleep as I stroked her fur and she purred her way to the sleep of death. I didn't want her to suffer anymore and she seemed to be so content when she did die. Here was a kitten who would have died alo...

Most dogs would starve to death...cats would be fine other than cars. I disagree. There are many dangers outside for cats: not only cars, but other animals (dogs, foxes, raccoons, whatever is around), diseases, and cruel people (I've read especially of people kicking and abusing black cats, merely ...
