Guac

Thought Id contribute a little bit to this. I was born and raised in New Mexico where Mexican food was served with almost every meal. When I moved to Utah I found that grocery stores dont even sell "hot" salsa, just medium and mild, the when they started selling hot salsa, it wasnt hot at all.

The biggest thing though was that the Guacamole sucked. It either tasted to bland or not spicy enough. So I did my own recipe. It isnt perfect, everyone likes the taste of their guacamole different, but here goes:

2 avocados

1/2 purple onion

2 small tomatos (or one large)

1 lemon (lime if you prefer a bit tangier)

Sea Salt

Pepper

Cumin

Cayenne Pepper

Cut and Spoon out avocado in bowl.

Chop 1/2 onion as small as possible.

Chop tomatoes as small as possible.

Place onion and tomato in bowl with avocado.

Put 2 teaspoon of Sea Salt, 2 teaspoons of Pepper, 1 tablespoon of Cumin, and 1/2 tablespoon of Cayenne (more if you like it spicier, less if you dont.)

Cut Lemon in half, and squeeze the juice out of one half of the lemon in the bowl. (you can use the other half for other recipes or whatever.)

Then with a strong fork, MASH all ingredients together.

I love Mexican food!

Besides the fake guacamole and cheap salsa, what I don't like in grocery stores is they never sell tortillas made of corn flour, always wheat ! At least there's some corn chips.

If you can get Masa Harina you could make your own corn tortillas!
