beforewisdom
Running time: 2 minutes. Dr. Greger MD, of the HSUS says that toxins from things harvested with spirulina can harm infants born to mothers who use spirulina. According to Dr. Greger insuring that spirulina is free of impurities is not cost effective, or practical, so it isn't likely to happen
Mini Forklift
Use a good quality one, problem solved! I have only ever used one brand (have used it daily for more than 7 years now) but I am certain that you get what you pay for, mine is certified organic by the USDA NOP and carries a 'USP Ingredient Verified Approval' stamp. It exceeds all international safety and quality standards, the spirulina is dried in seconds and packed within 15mins of harvest. The brand I use has been around for more than 20yrs and they actually recommend it in pregnancy and lactation. I'm sure there are plenty of inferior, rubbish spirulina products out there though.
