Why vegan?

Just curious....

Why did you make the switch and what benefits (if any) have you encountered since doing so?

I've been plagued by chronic fatigue, and thyroid issues the last year or so. It's basically left me bedridden. Docs have been useless. I read several stories of people curing these issues on a raw vegan diet and was thinking of giving it a go.

Ive been on a high fat/protein low carb diet these past 5 years.

i became vegetarian when i was 13-14 and vegan almost 5 years ago.

the reasons are only political, i do it because the life of all species is sacred, as i believe in the bioconnection between creatures and mother earth.

about health i just remember i was an obese when i quit omnivore diet, since i am vegan and paying attention to food and nutritional values i almost NEVER get ill and of course i feel better

For me there's a few reasons really...

** I suffered a small heart attack in 2010. Found out my cholesterol was really high and so I thought I'd try cutting meat & dairy to see if it helped (which it did).

** Was interested to see if cutting meat out would negatively affect my workouts, strength & recovery like everybody told me it would. It didn't.

** Environmental, animal cruelty reasons etc.
