Vegetarian bodybuilding book recommendations?

#1 Postby Duderino » Tue Sep 29, 2015 11:59 am

Hello all,

Have mercy because I am NEW to this. Also wasn't sure if I should post in the BB section or here.

Can anyone recommend a 'TOP 5' books to read on vegetarian bodybuilding?

To be clear, as I understand it, I want to go lacto-ovo vegetarian, that is, a vegetarian who eats both eggs and dairy products, and is the most common kind of vegetarian.
(I will most likely be keeping some chicken and fish in my diet - at least until I do a full transition, but this is besides the point.)

There are tons of books on V eating and dieting but wanted ones focused on bodybuilding/builders.

Looking to try something different. Decided to use myself as a test subject and attempt vegetarian bodybuilding for the next year. I've already cut way back on red meat and have never felt better. Lost 20 lbs., gained muscle and strength and my libido improved too.

Sorry, I know this is technically a VEGAN forum, but I have not found any good vegetarian sites yet. lol
Thanks in advance!

Vegetarian bodybuilding, vegan bodybuilding, paleo bodybuilding, traditional bodybuilding...all the same but you just eat different foods to get the building blocks you need. Workouts are the same. Results are similar and dependent on genetics, drugs, training, nutrition.
Make no excuses to skip a training session. Feel stressed, sad, sick or tired? Go train. Your friends, your heart, mind and body will lie to you. Telling you that you need that recovery day. Go ahead, stay home. I'll be training that day and getting better no matter what.

That's pretty much what I suspected but by nature I am an information hound too. lol Plus, it never hurts to ask and get 3rd party opinions. I've been a personal trainer for over 25 years now and have always eaten my veggies all my life. But planning on converting 100% over this next year is new territory. OK. I'll just peruse some recipe and cook books and arrange my needs accordingly.
