Troy
Not sure why I haven't come across the leafy green before but a coworker stumbled upon it in her garden and thought it was a weed. She gave me some and it tastes ok raw. I haven't found a definitive nutrient profile for it but most links say the nutrient density is extremely high... i will try my first purslane and fruit smoothie tomorrow... beforewisdom
It is a common salad green in Europe. I heard it is high in oxalic acid. I heard it also has *tiny* amounts of the EFA epa in it. You can get it at some farmers markets. If you harvest it wild, don't take it from a suburban lawn and make sure you go some distance from the nearest road or pavement. If you do that you will minimize picking something that is contaminated with man made crap.
