I'm getting older and seem to encounter more minor injuries than I used to. Either that or else I didnt notice or care as much before because I would heal extremely fast. My most recent slow to heal, still recovering injury is my hand. I fell playing basketball and landed stomach first, catching my self with both hands palms down. My left hand was swollen later that night and now 2 weeks later it is still bothering me. My PT gf checked it out and said there doesnt seem to be anything broken or nerve damage related. I just started a new job where I am using the computer a lot and I think that is also not giving my hand proper rest. Anyone had a similar injury? Any …

I see on your site that when you first did P90X, you were not terribly vegan. I would like to pose a suggestion. This time, try to focus less on the protein 'requirement' of the program. You can get plenty of protein on a vegan diet, but if I remember correctly, P90X wants something like 30-40% of your calories from protein, which is quite high. Higher protein diets can help with satiety, but for repairing your body, nothing will help as much as high antioxidant foods like fruits and veggies. So I would focus more on high protein vegan foods, but whole foods, and without neglecting veggie intake! As far as proteins go, I recommend nuts, seeds, tofu, tempeh, beans,…

I am 20 years old have a height of 6'2 and weighing 179lb. I've been working out for the past 2 months and have 9% bodyfat, maybe a little less not sure but 9 for sure. My question is, how do I get super ripped like Sylvester Stallone or Dolph Lundgren in Rocky 4. I don't want to bulk up too much because I'm a model and I can't be a huuuge guy because that would take a lot of my jobs away. I would like to have some good results in 2 or 3 months. Is that possible? Please help. Thanks

What's people's views on the best/most reliable form of practical self-defence? Without having to train for 7+ years or having to spend thousands on learning. I've been doing boxing on/off for about 3-4 years, and since I became more serious about my health and general body fitness last year, I've got more into it. I've always been interested in learning a Martial Art but have been discouraged by people that have experience in Martial Arts who view it as impractical.. I have met some who view it as very practical, and I respect them for this. But like I said, I've never learnt any Martial Art just because I'm worried about not getting anything out of it. A friend of our…

This is strange.. I have been eating the same as I always have, usual diet with a little treat here and there (usually a soda or something).. However I've started putting on fat even when lifting and running five days a week and having Kendo practice on the weekend.. Did food change or am I going mad and eating a bag of donuts a week?

Hey pals & gals, I missed a snowboard fitness class tonight that I really wanted to take. Do any of you have some recommended exercises that specifically work the muscles in the legs, back, and core to enhance snowboarding skills and performance? Please share!

I'm interested in hearing any experience in improving hip mobility. Specifically, I'm preparing to attend a 10 day meditation retreat in a few months and I'd like to be able to sit comfortably in cross legged positions for ~30 minutes at a time. Any advice or experience is appreciated. Thanks!

Hey guys, i'm wanting to improve my flexibility, mainly in my ankles for squats-type lifts that require alot of flexibility anyway, here's a bit of a story as a kid i walked on my toes alot, alot alot, possibly related to a certain neurological thing that i have, i also played video games alot, and was off my feet alot, since i started lifting and fitness, i've avoided squats, deadlifts, and a couple other very good exercises because my ankles have a limited range of motion, particularly my right ankle over the last 2 or so months, i've been doing some stretching exercises every time i think of it, so like 3 or 4 times a day, along with throwing in some stretches in the…

I did a lot of walking over the weekend & developed a mid-sized water blister between the big & second toe. Aside from draining it (although I have read of letting it alone &l allowing the body reabsorb it) and applying anti-biotic cream, what do you guys suggest for quick healing, and also protection while working out. I'm in week 5 of Insanity, and as many of you know there is a lot of running/pounding on the feet. Any suggestions on how to tape this or prevent further rubbing/irritation until it heals?

so ive got a question, hoping someone can help... i think ive got some abdominal separation happening from my first pregnancy about 3 years ago. i just found out what that is, so im kind of past the point of reversal (so i think, or it will be harder to reverse at this point). since then ive done lots of ab workouts (they say it worsens it). ok so heres my problem...i know of at least one workout that can help with it, which i really want to start doing, but im pregnant again. im about 15 weeks along. so my question is, is it pointless to do the reversal workout now? should i wait? or should i work on my abs like normal and then try to fix it after i give birth? or shou…

Well I've been working out for a long while, I went from 250lbs to 175/7 lbs and from a 42 inch waist to a 32 inch waist. A long while ago (about a year or more) my boyfriend saw the photos of me and said that he would like to get into fitness. I said "sure" and that I would help him all the way though he doesn't listen to me at all. He works out with weights at home, jogs and does Judo twice a week. He's not a vegan but he only eats fish now and some odd milk.. The biggest problem I have is that he obsesses about his weight. He wont recognize any progress he makes despite what the scales say. He's been at 13 stone (182lbs) for a while and he's 5'7 though he doesn't…

Erg, I think I say this every few months.. I have been "working out" for two years. First year I was cutting all the fat I put on after two operations on my back and I lost about 90 lbs (coming down to 165lbs). Then I started weight lifting and my body is slowly growing. I've tripled my strength though bulky muscle is slow to grow. However one thing is still annoying me. I got down to about a 32/33 inch waist (I have big hips and shoulders so there isn't much fat there at all). However my stomach is still around, not big or noticeable apart from me. It's far worse when I sit down and it all "folds up" and no matter how much cardio I do, restrict my diet and so on i…

The latest video on my channel. I know a lot of people that either have pain or posture problems from not doing the necessary corrective work for a rider, so I was inspired to make this video. Let me know what you think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDHM62xbvMw

For years it has been the accepted idea to workout at the best target heart rate to burn fat, approx. 60 to 70 percent of your maximum heart rate for max fat burning. I recently read on a cycling forum that this has recently been discovered to be "wrong", and they feel that H.I.T., shorter workouts at higher intensities are much more beneficial for this. Not sure what to believe; I've been physically active in one form or another for over 25 yrs. and I cannot seem to shed fat! Most of my workouts have always been all-out, high intensity type, as I feel best working out at that pace. But it has really done nothing for my fat loss, belly/chest area esp.. I have…

Does anyone have any experience with stomach bloating? I'm finding that my stomach has been way more bloated than usual and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this and what you did to reduce this bloating and flatten your stomach again. Thanks.

Does anyone know of a (female) vegan trainer in Seattle? Or at least a way to find one? I thought just googling it would work, but I can't seem to find any! I was thinking about finding an affordable one to help me once and for all change my body...doing it on my own isn't working so well! While online support is nice, I'd like someone to help me out in person. Thanks!

Wasnt sure best forum for this so I went with first instinct. Before I started paying close attention to my health, I recall a past flat mate making his own drinks with electolytes in it. I cant remember what he used but will hit him up when I see him. Does anyone else make them? I would be keen to try a few of all your ideas!!!
