firstly I am sorry if I am posting this in the wrong place, I wasn't really sure of the best place. I am really hoping I can get some help and support from people in the know, especially as I tried signing up to another bodybuilding forum and got spoken to awfully, belittled, judged and called stupid just because I am a beginner with limited knowledge and understanding, Not to mention being told I need to eat meat fish and dairy because vegan bodybuilders are fake. So I'm really hoping I will find a more understanding home here. So my name is lexie. I'm 26 from the uk, After seeing numerous pictures of women lifting heavy weight I got inspired to get in to power lifti…

Hi, i was planning to train farmer walk in a spot where i can do it uphill. Since the road its quite steep my question regard the downhill walk. Is it dangerous for my knees as exemple to walk downhill with weights, such as a copule of kettlebells or a sandbag, or is safe to do that?

Eric reputedly opened up with a 'light' squat of around 930 as he wanted 1,000lb for his second lift (he smashed 1,003lb)

Hey, its good to know how to fail and not be afraid of it! Sadly proud of this super fail. Just straight-up lost my balance at the top and down I went! . This was at the Austin Simple Fit Open 26 July 2014.

Hey ya'll, I haven't been on here in a while, but I definitely should be here more. I've been super busy in the past year, started teaching and going to grad school full time, living off a stipend. Anyway, I've entered USAPL Raw Nationals! Thing is, it's in Colorado, I'm in Maryland... yea. Flight + Hotel = $$$ If you could send a couple bucks my way that would be amazing, just click the link below. http://fnd.us/c/6ltrc/sh/13Q4q4 Also some of my training videos are here: https://www.youtube.com/user/TheMastersofgravity

Hey all, I know this isn't strictly powerlifting and more towards olympic lifting, but I figured out of all the forums this would be the best place to post. I'm working towards proficiency in the olympic lifts and one of the steps I'm taking is to try to get super comfortable with my overhead squat. It's improving, and I'm getting more comfortable with the bar path and engaging my lats to pull the bar back and apart, but I'm having a lot of difficulty hitting depth. I can hit parallel, but this is obviously less than ideal as a position to catch a snatch. I don't think that general mobility is a problem, because I get ass to grass with barbell squats and pistol squats, bu…

So this happens on my second set lol, filmed a couple months ago. Me and my buddies had our own meet that weekend, neglecting the use of clips. I think this was like a 398lbs, I recently hit a new dead lift pr of 485; I'll film when I hit 5 plates http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSz5vQDx3FI

Just curious really if anyone has had any experience with this, I managed to keep gaining strength whilst cutting body fat last summer and plan on doing so again as of next month. Anyone got tips? Or just have their own way of doing this?

To the point: I have trained 2 days in a row so far and want to train today as well as next week is too busy to get much in. Is this stupid? Bare in mind I'm on 5/3/1 have squatted Thursday, mili press fri, and would be deadlifting today. Thoughts? Opinions? I'm under the impression this could be overtraining but as I'm on my first mesocycle it won't be overly heavy and taxing. Thanks in advance

So I didn't realise how much people argued over this topic, I assumed from the fact that 5x5 one of the most popular strength training programmes around that this wasn't even an issue. In fact I plan on doing squats and deadlifts in the same day once I've got all my powerlifting gear to my new house, so anyway, what's your opinion on this subject?

We haven't had a post in a while, mainly because I don't think there's a lot of powerlifters or strongmen on here. But, what is everyone using as their routines lately? It's interesting to find what people are using, and what's working. I'm running the smolov Jr for both my squat and bench. A week and a half in and I'm repping more weight than before and I'm feeling more comfortable on the bench.

This is my buddy Ahmad. Huge into power lifting, he lives and breathes the sport. He's just starting his own YouTube channel; This and his failed squat video are my favorite. They're so funny. He's on the Candito training program right now, and for every pound his PR's goes up by, he's donating 1$. (Bench PR 2$ per pound) There's a video on his setup. One of the most down to earth, honest and humblest guys I've ever met. Very intuitive, can back up anything he does. look at his dead lifts.. just wow. And after watching some of his videos you'll know what I mean. He'll go vegan one day;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7y0wrUIP-4

Hi, has anyone got any experience of these Inov-8 olympic lifting shoes? Inov-8 are a good vegan brand with a good company ethic and if these are any good I think they'll fill the gap in my olympic lifting shoes hole. http://www.inov-8.com/New/Global/Product-View-Fastlift-335-Black-Red.html?L=27

Hello all! I have a history of weakness in my hands and forearms that started about five years ago. I think a combination of long bumpy bike rides with me riding on the brakes and playing aggressive bass in a metal band for many years just continually tore my wrists and forearms down. The end result is that my forearms often tire and give before my target muscles. Today is my rest day and I'm noticing a good amount of pain in my hands left over from the past two days of lifting. I think that the weakness in my hands and forearms is related but not necessarily directly connected in any way, I think it's just two areas that I've tended to abuse in the past. I realize th…
