Just moved into new home with fiance and kids. I have no idea how to even judge what kind of weight and force(from deadlifts) the floor of this loft can handle. I'm planning to have a bench press, a hex bar for squats, many dumbells, 2 or 3 barbells, 6 to 8 45lbs plates, and a cable machine. I'm guessing up to 2 or 3 thousand pounds of equipment? Should I check the integrity of the loft? Whats the best way to do so? Is the carpet a problem? I would like to mount wall mirrors. Should I replace the carpet with something else? Or can I put something over the carpet that won't mess with my balance and footing? How do I manage the…

Hello, I've been vegan for 35 years (I'm 53 now). I'm not exactly "new" to body building. I first started about 10 years ago, but then discontinued after 6 months. My reason for discontinuing was that I got testicle cancer, and lost a nut. To me, the correlation between the radical change in my diet, and the cancer was very scary. Although I'd been vegan for so many years, when I started body building, I also started eating TONS more peanut butter, tofu, beans, and anything else that was high in protein. I was also drinking several protein shakes throughout the day. I think my body was very un-used to this level of protein, and it caused, or at least contributed to the ca…

Hi, Like title says, I've been vegan since Sept 2016 and started out new modified vegan diet and exercise in April of this year. I'm sticking with strength training since mid-May. Here's the tricky part, I'm trying to build muscle as an ectomorph (technically meso-ectomorph). My calorie intake is about 7500, I try to get at least 170-180 g protein in a day with plant based protein powders, vegan creatine, plant based protein drinks, nuts/seeds/beans/greens. I also get extra b12 in vegan oral spray supplement. I workout 5 times in a week, max weight 4 sets of 8-10 reps. Oh, I also try to get some fat and lots of carbs. I try to get 8 hrs sleep if possible. I workout…

Hello everyone! I'm so glad to find your forum - I've been reading it for a week and now I finally decided to sign up. Being vegan for 2 years, I've organised a local joga club for ladies. I'm just an amateur, so don't be too harsh

Hey everyone So excited to be part of the vegan community I had a slow transition into veganism over a period of about 2 years, where I started eating less meat, then became vegetarian, then almost vegan, and I finally became vegan about a year ago Just competed in my first bodybuilding show last weekend, and I qualified for nationals! My national show is coming up this Saturday in Toronto I'm not ready yet for winning a show like this, but I'm so excited to go and see what it's like, and I'm definitely going to learn a lot I have a video about it here if you're interested https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZ0QKAQmuDg&feature=em-comments All the best!

Hi I’ve had MS multiple sclerosis since 2012. I want to try a vegan diet. I’m eating so many carbs, where I was eating under 150-100 grams with a traditional bodybuilding low carb diet. How does one get protein? I’m using quinoa/brown rice pasta right now. Or just plain quinoa from Trader Joe’s that i microwave. The carb/protein ratio is extreme. What do you guys eat to stay lean? Thanks so much, Lawrence

I'm Rachel Hernandez(As my username suggests).I'm not a vegetarian. I have been doing weight training for 8 weeks & I am looking to go totally vegan. The animal products I take-in are egg white,Greek yogurt & chicken(as per my diet). Any advice on suitable replacements for these things that have the same protein and calories,so that I can switch to vegan easily.

I am a 46-years-old male, from the DFW area in Texas. I was doing the paleo diet for about 7 years, until this past January. I switched over to plant based diet. I found my workouts and muscle gains suffered. I am trying to add in some pea protein and more food to hopefully see gains again, but minimize fat gains. Glad to have a place to find some good information.

Hello everyone! My name is Scott and I wanted to post an intro here, where I am on my plant strong journey and getting into the best shape of my life. For the past 4 weeks I have been watching a lot of Vegan BB meal planing videos and putting them to good use. I am going on my 5th week on a 100% plant strong lifestyle and have been inspired by many of the channels on YT. No meat, dairy, egg, added sugar and as little added oil as possible. What I am doing: I am 47 years old, 215-220, am lifting 3 days a week (Combined muscle groups) and doing cardio for 5 days (3 days are after I lift). My primary goal is loss of fat rather than size though I wont complain if I se…

Hi guys, I'm a vegan strongman who trains also for aesthetics. I incorporate bodybuilding in my training. About me- I've always played heaps of sport and grown up always eating a lot. I've always been lean and always tried to eat for health. I started going to the gym during my first uni days and lifting with no real idea of what I was doing. I kept eating meat and animal products until one day I found out my brother was vegetarian... I couldn't believe it, why? The more I thought about it and researched the more I realised veganism was the only logical way to live in the modern era! At this time I was starting to get my first 1 arm push ups etc. I trained body weig…

Hello, I have been doing weight training for 6 weeks, "down 18 lbs and 6 inches" I am a total noob, and am looking to go totally vegan. I am currently vegetarian. The only two animal products I eat are egg white and Greek yogurt. Any advice on suitable replacements for those two things that have the same protein and calories? Anyway can not wait to sift through all the info and what not.

Hello all, I am trying to learn a vegan WOE. I have had spectacular success doing the opposite, mainly on the backs of some long fasts but interspersed with a very ketogenic (meat centric) diet. I am getting to a phase of my life where I will need to break that for a bit atleast. Learning about how I could do that. Essentially want to eat fruits and raw veggies and get to a better state of mind/body. I am 165-168 lb, 5' 9" 50 yr male. I'd be happy to stay there a few months while life takes it course.

Just wanted to quickly introduce myself. I'm a woman in my early 30s from the Bay Area. I've been vegan for a little over a year. I've never felt better in my life! I try to have a healthy diet and excerise regularly. I go to the gym a few times a week (do some cardio, light strength training, stretching, etc.) hike, walk, and do yoga. I want to get more serious about my fitness regimen, and include more strength training and aqcuire a more advanced yoga practice. I'm excited to be part of this community and support eachother as vegans and health conscious individuals!

Hello there, I have been on a plant based diet for nearly 5 years now. I have always been relatively athletic and love to work out. This year I hit 30 and had my first child. I have always wanted that "Chiseled" look but I am realizing now is the time. I am really taking this seriously, and I would like to go to Body Composition event and compete. I know there is a lot of work to do, but I am up for it. I am hoping that I can find motivation and help along the way. I am also a huge nutrition nut. I switched to a plant diet based on stomach issues I had struggled with all my life. The change literally saved my life and I wanted to learn more about it so I started read…

Hello everyone, I’m a 36 years old strict vegetarian, moved to the USA about 4 years ago. My personal goal is to drastically transform my body, I’ve always been thin but I am craving muscle and strength now ! I know I need to improve my diet big time, I hate cooking and I don’t eat enough. Hopefully I’ll find vegan bodybuilders in the DC area to mentor me !

Hello everyone! First of all thanks for taking the time to read this post, it might be a bit boring to some as this is just a basic introduction. So, My Name's Brad, I'm 24 and have been vegan for over 3 years now. I've always had a slim build, weighing around 56 kilos since my teens, at the moment I'm weighing between 58/59 Kilos (I'm 174 cm tall) I've put on weight since losing quite a bit last year.Long story short, My girlfriend at the time fell ill whilst we were on holiday, and our 3 day trip turned into 21 days, she had to stay in hospital and I was staying at her mums with our now 2 year old daughter, without eating properly or at all. I fell down to around 5…

Thought I'd get into the habit of posting more often by starting with an introduction. I'm a late 20's semi-professional soccer player living in Toronto who went vegan in the summer of 2017. During the offseason, I run, lift, and do calisthenics for fun.
