I came across the below mentioned smoothie on another web site. Would I be able to add all of the following and still have the smoothie considered vegan? 16oz. Soymilk 8oz. Soy Ice Cream 8oz. Soy Yogurt 8oz. Soy Kefir Wheat Germ Hemp Seed Sesame Seed Flax Seed Veg Protein Powder Yes I know that it is soy protein overkill, but it is all vegan, I think. When added with the fruit it comes out to about 1,000 calories. This smoothie is quick to make and provides protein and fat, in addition to the carbohydrates typical in a fruit smoothie. I make twice what I need and keep the other half in a container for a future meal. 1/2 block of silken tofu 1-2 bananas 1-2 …

hey! I'm new here so forgive me if I am doing this wrong. I started a new program with my trainer. he suggested eating roughly 1200 calories a day - with 50% protein, 40% carbs, 10% fat. I am finding it so hard to come close to this! I am always so carb heavy and normally this is something I wouldn't care about but I thought I'd test out his advice. Anyone have any luck getting 50% of your calories from protein? http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/06/y2umuzu3.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I found out from the WNBF/INBF that 7 Keto DHEA is not a banned substance, so I have decided to try it. Anybody else on here try it for a comp? as a thermo? From the website, I guess they had it banned (along with regular DHEA and Ephedra), but the evidence of the immune boosting properties was so great that they unbanned it (only 7-Keto DHEA though). So far, after a week of being on it, it does seem to give me some energy (though my white tea with schizandra gives me alot more, but that is the jittery caffeine energy) and I am wired at night again (just like I was with Xenadrine containing ephedra/ma huang combination about 5 years ago when I was doing comps). I am o…

I have been searching and I haven't found if it is or not. I did read from one person on another forum that posted that the Diet Pepsi version was not, as it had Tagatose, which is derived from Whey. I also read from another forum that some of them get the color from ground up insects. The only ingredients that are for color that are from insects that I know of is Carmine, and if I am not mistaken, that's just for the color red. Any ideas?

I know 70% Pea/30% Rice Protein has a really good amino acid score, 146. Is it better than other blends, or just straight rice or pea protein? I am looking for the optical rice and/or pea protein blend. I don't care about pretty flavors, textures etc. I just want the best replacement for casein protein. Thanks.

I've tried just about every diet out there and many different versions of the raw diet and havn't got the reason that i'm looking for. Now i'm going to try the 811 diet with just raw unprocessed organic fruits and veggies. The only problem is the cost. Before i consumed very little fruit so my diet was very cheap. I'd get over 4,000 calories daily on about 600 per month which is great. the only way i can get enough calories on 811 is oviosly a ton of fruit, but the only fruit that is cheap enough for me is Bananas and oranges. Would it be a problem if i eat only oranges, bananas and a large variety of greens? it's every that or get a variety and really undereat and…

Yo 811 guys, how do you get all your zinc? I know that there is a little in fruit and that you eat a lot of fruit, but still, is it enough? RDI in Sweden is 12mg for a grown male. If you're an athlete you need more and if you are sexually actve you need more again. 1 Extra large Banana (152 grams) gives 0,2 mg of zinc according to nutriton data. That would mean you would eat 60 of them (9,12 kg) to get 12mg. Bananas are supposed to be the fruit highest in zinc, allthough dates have a little bit higher according to ND.

i'm always at the gym and i gained well (5'9", 160lbs). i want to really get cut so my main question is what is the best protein to carb ratio in you diet? i remember reading about 1:1.5 or 1:2. like if you ate 100g protein you would eat about 150g or 200g carbs. is that correct? here is what i ate today. i know i need more protein (this is my first day actually counting) so besides that is everything else in order? calories: 1642 calories from fat: 245 protein: 107g carbs: 160g thanks! brett

http://www.giveittomeraw.com they head a forum called http://www.welikeitraw.com which that blog page links up to as well. I have not sifted through it yet as I just got off the phone with a friend who recommended it to me. Said it can kinda sorta have that whacky over the top feeling which i will not get into b/c we need to put it to rest for a bit to calm down the atmosphere. BUT it is also really cool and alot of magnetic people post and share themselves and their knowledge as well. Sarma Melangalis (co owner of pure food and wine) has a personal blog there as well which i thought was neat. Not that i had to see the 'we're in love with ourselves' photos from …

I was going through some threads yesterday and came across a comment recommending a book, the title of which was something like 'eat for life' or eat to live'... I can't remember. I went to the book's website and liked the sound of it... it promotes veganism and healthy, nutrient rich eating. I can't find the thread now! Could someone please tell me what the book is? Thank you!!

This article is short enough that I am quoting the whole thing. Note. A "calorie" (kilocalorie) is a measure of energy -- the amount of energy needed to increase temperature of 1 gram of water 1 degree Celsius. Many people think they are eating "more" when they eat high bulk diets. Bulk being fiber and water combined. Such people are eating more bulk, but not more calories ( energy ). Some foods "wrap" the same amount of calories in "different sized boxes"( bulk). So people who are eating "more", bulk feel fuller but might actually be eating less calories ( energy ). Some good visual examples: http://www.wisegeek.com/what-does-200-calories-look-like.htm …

I have acid-reflux disease and it was severely aggravated when I took creatine monohydrate. I've been told that other forms of creatine such as ethyl ester will not cause this problem. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.

G'day and good afternoon I've been vegan for just over 3 months now, I have been doing intermittent fasting 16/8 for about 2 of those months. I'm not doing the fast to loose weight but for hormonal affects (though I'm unsure I actually see any difference) Firstly, what are people thoughts on fasting over non fasting? And it's benefits etc. Secondly, I want to go as wholefood as I can, I feel as if powders aren't the answer to everything, I currently take BCAAs (during fast and workouts) pea protein and creatine before workout (if it's not during my fast) And obviously multivitamin. I mainly want to cut out the protein powder which would require a pre or post meal wi…

I've recently started a routine of lifting 2-3 times a week (in roller derby practice 2-3 times a week). Usually 1 will be an all over/lower workout including deadlifts and squats and the other 1-2 will be focusing on core and upper body (particularly upper body as thats what I don't get to work out with derby) I've got a few questions about my protein and calorie intake. I weigh about 185lbs, which is a decent weight for my height (6'6/196cm) and I mostly want to change what that weight is made up of. With the aim of increasing muscular strength and definition what is the quantity of protein I should be getting on gym days and other days? I get about 75-100g rough…

Hi! Could anyone help me with this? I'd like to drop my bf (I already do cardio almost every morning) and I know I won't get much result if I don't go on a cutting diet. Are cutting diets as unhealthy as they sound? Is there a way to achieve quite low body fat while not having to worry about health issues due to a high protein diet? any suggestions or advices are very welcome. thanks!
