Does anyone have a super simple gluten free bread recipe or recommend gluten free mixes??? It is getting to the season of sandwiches for me. I don't like store bought bread cause it usually tastes funny to me and there are very few that don't put eggs in the bread.

Looking for a place to buy plain Tempeh in bulk. Anywhere from 24-100 8oz packages or thereabouts. Would like to not pay over $2 each including shipping. Cost is $3-4 local but goes on clearance for .99 cents sometimes and I stock up if I am lucky. Any ideas/links/opinions welcomed... Thanks, Ron

One of the best things for me about becoming Vegan was that I started experimenting with all sorts of spices and ethnic foods I would not have explored otherwise- asian, mexican, indian, etc. I eat organic brown rice every day, with black beans, lentils, vegetables, etc (i love carbs, with no apologies, as long as it's whole grain), and always with spices as well as lots of extra virgin olive oil. This stuff is my favorite Curry Blend, Frontier Seasonings. Lots of news bits about how turmeric is supposed to be such a great anti-inflammatory too, which is cool because I could eat it every day. http://www.vitacost.com/Images/Products/200/Frontier/Frontier-Curry-Powder-C…

HEALTHY MUESLI I'll throw a few good, healthy recipes into the mix. I use them regularly, feel free to try them out and let me know what you think... 4 cups of jumbo oats 1 cup of whole linseeds 1 cup desiccated coconut (this is for flavour only) ½ a cup of each of the following: • Pumpkin seeds • Sunflower seeds • Diced apricots • Raisins • Sesame seeds • Almonds Mix together. At night soak 7 tablespoons of the above muesli in a liquid of your choosing (water/juice/milk/soymilk etc). Alternatively just mix up the seed/nut mixture and store in a glass jar – then soak two tablespoons of this overnight on its own to add to a muesli mixture of your choice. Soak…

Last summer I was in this cool book store in Astoria, NY. No reason. I was just passing by. On the front display was Vegan Soul Kitchen by Bryant Terry. In a predominantly Greek book store no less! I took it as an omen and bought it. Today I finally got around to making something from it, Red Beans & Brown Rice with Red Wine-Simmered Seitan. Yeah, it's as good as it sounds Cool thing is that he also recommend music to go with each recipe. Pandora is helpful with this. Here's the recipe if you're into it: http://i756.photobucket.com/albums/xx204/KBFreak/VeganSoul1.jpg http://i756.photobucket.com/albums/xx204/KBFreak/VeganSoul2.jpg Enjoy!

This is something I've been making once a week. I love it! Now I want to make a cheese sauce with nutritional yeast for smothering on burgers or burritos. Some I'm seeing online require flour or cornstarch...not appealing. would it make sense to make the sauce for my mac n cheese and cooking it down in a pot? any suggestions?! thanks!

Hi everyone, I know we aren't big on selling products here (or over on VF, where I also posted this), but I wanted to let everyone know about an app I just found last night on the Android Market (also the iPhone App Store). It's by Victoria Boutenko and her family, and it's called 'Green Smoothies'. It's a pretty good app, it has all the smoothie recipes from her book, and it's only $2. If you are into green smoothies at all then I recommend checking it out! https://market.android.com/details?id=com.rawfamily.greensmoothies&hl=en http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/green-smoothies/id409966779?mt=8

Hey! Check out my blog: it's got a bunch of vegan - and mostly raw - recipes to help you get or maintain the body you love. A lot of the recipes are desserts, and you can easily add your fave protein powder to them. The base for a lot of the recipes is nuts, dates and coconut oil - all excellent foods for bulking up and/or staying lean. It's an easy way to get that extra hit of protein for regeneration/growth. Plus, everybody needs some raw food in their diet anyways, bb or not. Fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds are the ultimate foods to build high quality muscle fast! Plus, you can hear me rant about my raw vegan life and all it's ups and downs. Here t'is: http://raw…

I want to buy or make vegetarian or even vegan meal replacement type bars to help me get more of my mini meals. I would prefer higher protein and also whole foods if at all possible. Any help is appreciated in advance. Where the attitude goes, the mind goes. Where the mind goes, the body goes. Where the body goes, others will follow.

Does anybody have a good vegan wedding cake recipe (or resource)? Friends of mine are getting married in February. They are not vegan but want to have a vegan wedding cake to accommodate their vegan guests. The bride's mother will be making the cake and has a bit of experience with vegan baking (but not a lot). She's willing to do some experimentation. The bride's first choice is for a traditional "white" cake but she would also consider a carrot cake or something similar, though chocolate is definitely out. From my first round of exploration, it seems the traditional white cake can be a bit of a challenge to pull off with vegan ingredients. (I'm prepared to recommend…

'Tis the season for tempting seasonal delights. I've found quite a few vegan alternatives to the usual holiday fare. I love to whip them up and bring them to parties, then wait until there's sufficient oohing and ahhing before droping the bomb on my friends that they are eating vegan. Such fun. What are some of your favorite recipes? Here's an insanely delicious one for coconut lovers--and it's raw! Coconut Macaroons 4 C. finely shredded unsweetened coconut 1 C. coconut flour (You can make this by grinding shredded coconut in a coffee grinder.) 1/2 C. melted coconut oil 1 C. raw agave syrup 1/2 t. vanilla 1/4 t. sea salt 1/8 t. cinnamon (optional) Just mix togeth…

Hey everyone, this is my first post and I'd like to start off with my favorite recipe for broccoli or broccolini (I think broccolini works better), which happens to be one of my favorite recipes of all time. I'll make over a pound of veggies this way and scarf it all down. It's pretty low in calories, but very high in flavor and good micronutrition. Here's what you'll need: -One bunch of broccolini, broccoli, kale, or similar -Salt -Ground white pepper (trust me, white works best) -Red pepper flakes -Olive oil -2 to 4 cloves of garlic Here's what to do: 1. Add a bit of olive oil (use your judgment) to a hot pan and begin to sautee the garlic whole. 2. Rinse your veget…

While on tour, one of the most common questions I get is from people asking about bulking up and gaining weight. I share my thoughts with them about eating foods that are heavy by weight, heavy by calories, heavy by protein and combining that with frequent meals, dedicated training and additional supplementation is necessary/desired. What are your favorite bulking foods?
