This is simple and I normally don't like tempeh but I like it in tacos apparently. I pan fried it up in coconut oil and taco seasoning. Put it in a brown rice tortilla and added black beans, corn, salsa and guacamole. Happy eating, -Dylan

Pretty much what the topic says. I use a lot of it and was wondering if you can cook it and store it for reheating or just eating later?

hi, i bought 3 packets of tempeh last time i was at the shops, i haven't cooked it before, but i just tried cooking it in a pan, with a small amount of oil, and some sauce, then put on skewers anyway, the texture was very gooey, and very unappealing for me, how do you guys cook tempeh? i couldn't eat what i had cooked and threw some of it out

Hey everybody, first time poster, new vegan too. My wife and I went to our Chinese restuarant (Vegan actually) and we had different stuff to eat. She had some basil tofu (preatty good) and I had a mock chicken General Tso. The diference was that my, I'm quessing it was tofu or vegtable protein, had a texture identical to chicken. It wasn't soft or plain like the tofu we buy at the store. I live in Maryland, does anyone know a brand that we can get, maybe like a block or a big pack and whats it called? Thanks. Jon

List you're most ing, Vile, Horrific, Nasty Concoctions of Satan here. I'll go first. I have quite a few of my own . #1: Pizza Bomb Basically it was designed to be A Super Protein Pizza. This was made in my Pre-Vegan days when I was just Vegetarian. The Size was in the middle of Small and Medium. Crust made out of regular flower. Sauce made out of Tomatoes, Spinach, cilantro and salt. And to top it all off I covered it in Soy nuts and then covered it in Mazzarella cheese. Outcome: Yuck. So vile and crunchy it made me go >.< # 2: Spinach Cookies. One day I decided to make Vegan Cookies( This was back when I was new to health so I didn't know about proccessed…

I LOVE peanut butter and banana sandwiches. I was reading a news story about Elvis today (it would have been his 75th birthday recently) and saw that he too loved them but liked them fried. This sounded really good to me so I looked up the recipe which is just like a normal pb and banana sandwich but you put butter on either side at the end and fry it in a pan. Does anyone know what I could use instead of butter to fry the sandwich? Obviously something vegan and as healthy as possible. Thanks!!!

I don't know if it's the official food of this website, but the word burrito seems to come up a lot on this site, so I thought I'd have a thread where we can share our favorite combos (for those of us who make them). I normally add spinach or something green, but we didn't have anything good to put on, but this is what I've been eating a lot of: - Black Beans - Brown Rice - Chickpeas - My homemade BBQ sauce (Onion Powder, Cayenne Pepper, Tomato Paste, Mustard & Molasses (spelling?)) - Chopped onion, pepper, tomato (whatever is in the house) - Spinach (not pictured)

I've been on this diet for nearly 3 weeks now and I'm amazed at the results. For those who aren't familiar with this diet, it basically consists of 3 days carb depletion with high reps and aerobic workouts, followed by a carb load and low rep workouts. Its ideal for someone like me who only wants to lose the last bit of fat! Problem is, I'm struggling finding nice things to eat on the low carb days. I can only eat 50gm of carb a day which is tough with vegan food..anyone got any suggestions? I'd be happy to send a copy of the Ultimate Diet 2 book and/or my diet log so far to anyone interested in trying this diet because as far as I am aware, people always said you couldn'…

I didn't even realize there was a food topic! So sorry to post this a second time (I allready posted this to my training blog), but i figured that you can find this better if it's here. The VBB-pizza Dough: - 2/3 whole grain flour - 1/3 rye/spelt flour or similar - yeast - a couple of pinches of baking powder - hemp seeds - sunflower seeds - sesame seeds - lots of hemp/flax oil and/or olive oil - soy sauce - herbs - water Knead the dough for 10-15 minutes. You can either do a slightly loose dough or a "normal" dough. Just add water and/or flour until the dough feels good. When properly kneaded, the dough should feel kind of stringy or resilient. Leave the dough in a…

I made this up when I was half asleep this morning and trying to figure out what to make with the chocolate rice milk that my kids don't like, so no photos yet, and the measurements may not be precise. 1 1/2 bananas, cut into 1" pieces and frozen 1 cup chocolate rice milk (or soy, almond, whatever) 1/4 cup hemp seed heaping spoonful carob powder vegan sweetener of choice, to taste (I didn't use any) Put hemp seed and part of rice milk in blender, liquefy. Add remainder of rice milk, the carob powder, and the frozen banana chunks. Blend until it looks like a chocolate shake. Enjoy, like a chocolate shake.

Well times are currently tough, I'm by no means broke but I could do with slimming down a bit.. Wallet wise that is. I know I can make decent chilli and freeze it to eat it later but I don't really want to live on chilli alone so does anyone know some good, cheap things that I can make and then freeze for the week? Healthy goes without saying here I think

If you're like me (maybe you're not) you'll find some things you just can't stomach. For example, I can't eat butternut squash straight out, not sure why, I just don't like it.. And why should you force yourself to eat something you don't like even if it's good for you? Well there is a way. If I have vegetables that are going to go off soon or are something I tried and don't like, I soup them. I boil them, blend them up and put them in the fridge, with a little pepper and herbs they taste pretty good, not my favorite thing but decent. Anyone else do this? If not, you should.

Yum-tastic. Soo soo soo good! This stuff is fabulous. Get the message? Anyway, no pictures because I can't take the credit for this recipe. It's Mr. Michael Hobson's and he got it from the "new farm vegetarian cookbook" - probably the best cookbook in the world, in my humble opinion. Ok, enough chatter, here goes it... Tofu Manicotti Filling: Saute 1 cup chopped onions in 3-4 Tbsp. margarine or oil. Add: 1 1/2 cups chopped cooked spinach. (frozen works great) 2 1/2 cups mashed tofu salt and garlic to taste Stuff 1/2 pound of manicotti noodles and place them in a greased baking pan, with a little sauce in the bottom. Cover with the remaining sauce. (Note: I…
