Hey, I've been following a low-fat vegan diet for some while now, really like the froks over knives recipes, but it doesn't have too much recipes for millet and buckwheat, can you share some please?

I am a new began and am a self employed builder. Here in the UK vegan choices in cafes or just eating out in general are pretty much non existent. I need to eat away from home minimum 5 times a week so i am going to start taking my own foods. This is somthing i will more than likely be doing for the rest of my life so keeping things interesting but simple is key, might also be worth mentioning at this point that it's rate i have access to anything that would re heart food so i am looking for mainly recipes that can be eaten cold so with this in mind my question is what kind of foods do people tend to make for packed lunch? How do you go about your meal preping for the w…

Hi, I've read this article http://veganbodybuilding.com/?page=article_derek_gainer_shake and I'd like to know how you use the beans and peas. Do you blend them cooked or raw ? Thanks

This may sound like a silly question. I am trying to get enough protein in my diet as naturally as possible by eating nuts and seeds, however I know that these are also loaded with fat which is preventing me from losing belly fat. Does anyone know of any great protein recipes that won't stop me from losing fat? I am willing to buy a powder as long as it's not loaded with sugar and chemicals.

Well an annoying thing happened, I started getting digestive issues with gluten (and I think soy but that's not confirmed yet so I'm sticking with the first now). Slightly gaoling for me as I've know so many people who jump on the coolest "allergy" or "inteollerance" which can get annoying.. Anyway, noticed a lot of things I buy like breads and fake meat (sandwiches) and other fake meats are not gluten free.. Should I just give these things up or should I try and find something different? The issue I've had with the second is that, well I can't seem to find any in the UK apart from one or two that are really expensive..

just wondering what you guys do to make protein edible? i have a flavored vanilla rice/pea protein that's hard to get down, but banana smoothies cover it up extremely well (i've tried other fruits like mango, strawberry etc, bananas are magic) i also have some unflavored ones that are easier to get down i've made pancakes which help them go down quite a bit, but have a bit off texture, and more carbs for the trouble i've made bars too, but again, more carbs for the trouble just wondering if you guys have any exceptional ingredients for masking the textures/tastes of protein powders and making them more palatable, i'd recommend using frozen bananas to anyone who ha…

ok they aren't that saucey, but they are quite tasty and a nice protein hit http://puu.sh/fYzJx/31884ae90e.jpg http://puu.sh/fYAsr/7a0f962d1c.png http://puu.sh/fYAAX/e3cebca6c4.png They taste quite nice, this isn't an exact recipe, a bit of eyeballing/personal taste, but here's how i made it seiten can be rather chewy, but this one is quite tender, and still has that nice, doughy texture similar to meats, and mock meats. baked seiten is much chewier, but also quite nice. SEITEN: 1 chilli 1 flat tsp baking powder 1 cup wheat gluten (i used a generic brand form a local market) 1/4 cup chickpea flour 1/4 cup nutritional yeast/savory yeast 1/4 cup soy sauce 1/4 cup stock …

So i wanted to make something with a bit of a protein kick to it, i read a recipe somewhere, cant remember where a while ago on adzuki bean burgers, since it's harder to get black beans around here anyway, they didnt turn out well on the macros, but they taste good, they are also loaded in calories (whoops) http://puu.sh/fW1xt/bf71753940.jpg http://puu.sh/fW3jv/382338b0ce.png Yeah, i wanted to stay more true to the recipe, from what i recalled, the recipe didn't include chilli, or pecans, i kinda mis-estimated the macros for the bread crumbs and the pecans (i think the brand that i bought have more protein in them) it's not a massive bummer, i'll use the extra calorie…

I just found out that you can drop a recipe URL onto My Fitness Pal and it will automatically find ingredients, let you choose brands, then calculate nutrition, incl. macro and micro nutrients per serving. This is so awesome! WINNING

Am trying to come up with a recipe for the ultimate veggie burger that is absolutely jam packed with protein, but soy free. I've been scared off soy, and until recently that was my #1 protein source. I've become a post workout veggie patty addict, ones that were kept frozen and then you just fry them up and make a burger. The ones I were eating were pure soy though, so want to make my own. Hoping to come up with a recipe that will get me about 25-30 grams of protein in a 110g (or so) patty. Can make a big batch and then just heat and eat after workouts with my vega shakes. Foods that are in the running: Hemp seeds Oats Black Beans Mushrooms (for texture) Any h…

I am considering purchasing a dehydrator. I do not want to invest in an excaliber or similar model right now. I want to see how much I use it and how well I incorporate the long dehydration times into my schedule. I am considering this model. Does anyone have experience with it? Miss cheese? Not anymore! Ingredients: 1 package raw and unsalted cashews from Trader Joe's (or equiv., I think about 16 oz.) 1 - 2 tbsp stone ground mustard 2 tbsp nutritional yeast flakes (find at Whole Foods) 2 tsp ground black pepper 1 tbsp dried oregano 1 tsp salt Note: You can add whatever other spices you like to vary the overall recipe. I think some fresh dill would be awesome, or even some curry powder. Instructions: 1. Soak the cashews in water, an airtight container, for a few hours, or overnight; until soft. 2. Drain cashews, and rinse. 3. Combine the soaked cashews in a food processor. 4. Add all other ingredients, except the water. 5. Blend unt…

I made this for lunch today. It was so tasty and simple. 400g can chickpeas/garbanzo beans A good squirt or a few tbsp of vegan mayo Salt & pepper Optional - chopped celery - Mash the chickpeas as much or as little as you like. I left some whole for a bit of texture. - Mix in the mayo, salt and pepper - Done It's good by itself, but this time I had it with some baby spinach and a couple of slices of tomato. Contains just over 20g protein. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v52/essjayyell/IMG_0500.jpg

Seems like I tried it all! Flax seed + water to replace eggs. Adding more oil for binding or oats or bananas for binding. Poured quantities of baking powder into the mix. Fake sugar + cinnamon do a lot for the taste, but I have not found a true binding! Seems like I can't get a protein-powder pancake to stick. At flip-time it just falls apart. Wind up eating protein mush which is silly. What, pray tell, has worked for you in this department?
