How To Create Your Own Plant-Based Athlete Meal Plans Over the twenty years that I have been a plant-based (vegan) athlete, I’ve realized that many people know what foods they want to avoid when they decide to become vegan, but they’re often unsure about the foods to eat to thrive as a plant-based athlete. An obvious first step is to avoid eating animal products, but what to replace them with becomes the mission to conquer. Many animal products are 1500-3000 calories per pound, whereas most plant foods are 200-500 calories per pound. Naturally, there will be questions about what to eat to replace animal foods in order to maintain your current weight, build muscle,…

Ive talked to several people recently about veganism and they all ask me if its expensive. I'm wondering if any of you have a good explanation for this. What have these people heard to make them ask such a thing?

Usually in many Vegan restaurants I see images of happy farm cows and made me wonder what was the original wild animal. Now I read they have been back breeding to return the animal to the wilds. The earliest cows were mighty beasts that stood almost as tall as elephants, with lean, powerful frames and fearsome horns that would make a hunter think twice. For thousands of years the aurochs were the largest land mammals in Europe, until the rise of human civilization decimated their numbers, and the last of the species died in Poland in 1627 -- one of the first recorded cases of extinction. https://www.cnn.com/2017/01/09/world/auroch-rewilding/index.html

we’ve been together for the last month (we’ve met on Tinder) I have a lot of free time due to my automated affiliate marketing incomes, and she has a lot of time as well, so we’ve been able to see each other for almost every day for at least couple of hours. She lives 3 blocks from me which is great as well. The only problem is that she doesn’t wanna have sex. She is claiming to be a virgin (she’s 25) What do you think, how can I make her want to have sex asap? She’s horney but always stops me at some point. i don’t know what to do anymore :/ Help guys

No not steroids.. Bit of a problem that they share the same term.. Anyway, I got a vegetable and fruit juicer for my birthday so I thought I would try it out, always wanted to try the vegetable/fruit juice stuff as I'm really not a breakfast person and that would be much easier (some of the time). I tried a kale one and about two hours later I felt really sick, not feverish just sick. Another hour or so later I was praying to the toilet gods.. I could put this down to the vegetables being a little off and me not noticing, contamination or something but I've heard of juiced vegetables making people blow chunks too.. Just wondering if it happened to anyone here?

How many people wear gloves in a gym? I realize a lot of power lifters don't prefer gloves. But I don't want calluses on my hands and the weights hurt lesser when I have gloves on. Are there any stats / surveys on the number of people that wear gloves vs those who don't?

I dreamed that an alien landed on my balcony and I talked to him. He was so nice and friendly and I’m still upset that he left :/ He said that he’s starting to get back pain because he doesn’t used to the gravity here on earth. I asked him if he has feelings and he said that he hasn’t, even thought he apperead super friendly and intelligent. He said that he is an super advanced AI, and that another aliens with feelings has depeloped him 7 billion lights years away from earth, but they can’t travel so far on space, so they’ve sent him to collect some data about the universe. He said that he’s scheduled to get back in his planet in a few million years. He also said that he …

When I was fat, the only people to fat shame me were some members of my family. At the time I accepted it as simply their misguided concerns for my health. Now that I am thin (thinner then almost all of them now), they actually thin shame me. I also find a lot of thin shaming in society in general. I get called "health nut" or "extreme" rather often. Has anyone else experienced this? Has society become so unhealthy that to strive for health is becoming taboo?

I would like to start my grocery list today, and if anyone knows of a "list" I can follow, that would be great. I want to get enough protein, naturally, but also some things to help my transition. Here are some things I already purchase on a regular basis: Spinach Avocados Zucinni Yellow Squash Bell Peppers (I favor orange and yellow is my fave) Tomatoes Sweet Potatos or Yams Nuts and Seed Bread from Signature brand (Safeway) onions (red & green onions) Olive Oil seasonings (rare but when I use salt it's sea salt) Juice Water is my main drink of the day. Asparagus Fuji or other sweet apples bananas blueberries Bosche Pears Mixed Spring Greens or 50/50 mix greens…

Hi guys, first of all whats up fellow vegans I just joined this community, so this is my first post. I basically have a Injury that follows me on and off for the last 2 month. Im on a PPL routine now. I lift relatively heavy 6-8 rep range, deadlift 3-5. After a few weeks on the program I felt pain on the outside of my right forearm. I had to take a break other than leg day. I ask a guy who i went to PT school with, who is a physiotherapist, he didn't really have an answer other than, he said maybe its because of my grip. Is anyone here familiar with something like that. Because after 2 weeks of having to take a break, Im back on a break after 1 week of working out and…

Hello. I used to post here years and years ago. Probably a completely different crowd now. I thought I would drop in and say "Hello" anyway. I saw an article about Mindy Collete the other day on Twitter, she is still going strong with her thing. I follow Deborah Nasmyth's page, watching the buildings she literally builds herself. It has been so long I don't remember other people's names. I remember a weight lifter and nurse I used to chat here with a lot. A doctor who is into bodybuilding to. Also a crazy raw foodist cycler who lived in the Baltimore area. Of course I remember Richard and SyrLinus. I remember a short woman with long brown hair who un…

I have been reading Ken Cooper' s Start Strong Finish Strong. I have always enjoyed Dr. Cooper' s work on cardiovascular exercise, and his book Aerobics kind of dented my skull in realizing the importance of conditioning exercises. One thing that I disagree with him however, is the Sun. He sets the Sun up there with cigarettes and corned beef as a life stopper. Statistic indicate that melanoma is, in reality, a rather infrequent cancer. Of the 300,000,000 people who live in the States, 55,000 died of melanoma last year. Although I wouldn't want my kids oiling up with baby oil and baking for a few hours, I do not understand Sun phobia. It gives life, fights depression, p…

My girlfriend is a big fan of freelee the banana girl, and I've been reading up on the high carb vegan diet, 80-10-10 etc. So my question is, is beer good for vegans? Most health conscience folks are beer adverse due to the high carb content, but as vegans perhaps we should be drinking more beer? Perhaps wishful thinking, but it would be great for marketing the diet. "Vegan: the diet where beer drinking is encouraged" (I'm tempted to TM that)
