Welp, let's get started. I just my blood test results back last week, and I found out that I have low testosterone (320ng). Being a guy this explains why I feel so craptastic all the time being only 23. Over the past year I have dealt with fatigue issues despite, and lately I'm often in a grumpy mood where I hate everything and don't want to do anything productive. With my testosterone levels in the crapper now, I have to make severe changes to my diet now. I believe the phylates, phytoestrogens, and goitrogenics from my high soy diet over the past 5 years have caused my T levels to drop. I'm dropping soy completely, but now I'm not sure if I can do a vegan diet wi…

is the city you live in vegan or vegetarian friendly? like with lots of restaurants with vegan options, or supermarkets with a large vegetarian selection? mine is NOT! there is only one vegetarian restaurant (lacto-ovo) across the border. it's called El Quint Sol (The Fifth Sun) and hey, it's better than nothing. and at the local supermarket the vegetarian section (boca burgers and the like) is about one fridge in the frozen food section. but of course i get by with purchasing a lots of pastas and fruits/vegetables in the produce. i've been to and lived in other cities in texas, like austin or houston, that have much more veggie friendly restaurants and organic sup…

Don't some of you feel duped. That was the number one battle cry from all those Obama supporters. """Don't you want to end the war?""" They would ask me well Obama going to end it so why not vote for him. Obama got his war chest budget approved not too long ago. Yet I didn't hear a peep from all those people who were screaming like maniacs when Bush was asking for it. I guess it's a self defense mechanism, that we use when you realise that you were lied to. Just pretend it never happened hey folks. I have a son who spent 15 months in Iraq and is scheduled to do 12 months in Afghanistan. Well, where the fuck are you now. I don't hear a peep from anybody calling f…

Again we shall have a week or so of submissions, then have a week of voting. Will post my own picture as usual to be demolished shortly! -The photos must have been taken within the past 4 weeks (basically within 30 days), so only current photos please. -You don't have to show full body, but please allow us to verify that the photo is you, just as in all the contests. -No editing of the photos is allowed, aside from cropping, but no photoshop or enhancements. -It doesn't matter if you are cold or pumped up, but the pumped up photos will get the best results, get the most votes, and best represent Vegan Bodybuilding to the general public when they visit the front o…

www.godfist.com/vbb If you'd like a section on the photo page, send your photo(s) to [email protected], or post them in this thread. You can send as many pictures as you want. Try to keep the size to no more than 800x600 pixels, but if you don't know how to do that, don't worry, I will shrink them myself.

I just put Marla to bed. When I laid there next to her until she fall asleep a already started to miss her and Anke very intensely. This will be the first time I won`t see my daughter for more than 2 days. Although I look forward starting the trip to Portland and all of you this feeling is very hard to stand.

Fundraising to support my book and outreach tour Hi everyone, I'm doing some fundraising to keep my influential tour going. I've visited seemingly all corners of North America over the past couple of years and I'm working hard to keep the tour going. I don't want this to be a one-way street, you helping me to do my thing. I work for a bunch of great companies so I'm able to offer these Thank You give-aways with purchase. Here are the details of epic savings. I don't make money on this promo, but I do essentially break even, which is fine with me because I have an excess of both clothing and books and I'd be happier if you had them Details: I am offering my bo…

Why are you Vegan? 1 2 3

Why are you vegan? I get this question all the time, as I'm sure most of you do. I'm interested to hear lots of different responses. I just worked on a project with two other vegans and I was the only one who became vegan for animal rights reasons. The other two were for health benefits. I'm also interested in what you say when people ask you Why? I usually tell them because of animal rights reasons and most say, "oh, ok". Others will say, why? Sometimes I feel a little awkward talking to certain people about animal rights. I don't want to put down their lifestyle, that is never an effective way to drive a conversation so I always speak as politely as possib…

In a Battle between the Magic Bullet and the Vita-mix blender. Who wins? I do have a magic bullet. But there are some things I don't like about it. 1. It doesn't hold much. 2. The power of the bullet more often then not gets the job done quick. But with certain foods it doesn't do a good job. I just made a shake with strawberries, kiwi and soymilk. Instead of coming out perfectly juicy like I wanted it came out with little seeds. Boo. 3. I don't like how the actual cup is upside down. Sometimes it leaks into the motor. 4. The rubber leak stopper is a little inconvenient for me. I don't like having to touch it with my bare hands otherwise I would know that once I d…

So would anyone here say meat eating is evil? Or should another term be used? Have you dealt with anyone who resented being called evil or told meat eating was wrong and then tried to blame you for environmental degredation (since the rainforest is being cleared to grow it), or claiming you care more about animals than people.

I'm thinking about starting to donate blood (to the healthcare) and I thought it would be fun to hear what other forum members experiences/opinions are on this topic. I'm also wondering how long I have to rest from training after donating. I've heard everything from 6 hours till 7 days.

when even vegans treat one another so badly? It's the worst thing in my life, as a result of becoming vegan, I got on the internet and looked for other vegans. Instead of finding inclusive people who cared about each other. I found people who treated each other just like everyone else does. (Example edited out by Jay) It's hardly just there. I've looked at many vegan forums online and see the same sort of indifference everywhere. I don't get it. How can people who like to preach such compassion be so indifferent? And what hope does this world have, when this indifference so permeates everything? Do indifferent people even realize what they're doing? Personal…

Sorry I haven't been on in a while. Crazy week just got crazier... I have been up in Auckland this week for a business conference then got some blood test results back from the docs yesterday (I get my bloods done yearly). So I got called in to see the doc for a quick checkup as it showed a few 'areas of concern'. Blood pressure was up this time round (150/100 whereas I am normally about 110/70) and my heart was showing signs of fibrillation and extremely irregular heart rhythms. I've been fast tracked to see one of our best heart surgeons next week, I have to have a couple of heart tests and be monitored for 24hrs. I asked about the ultramarathon I have planned for Aug…

Was anyone else a bit surprised when Chris Martin was voted sexiest vegetarian in the PETA contest? (And Carrie Underwood for females, a surprise there too I think) Personally....he's just scrawny and pale to me.... My vote goes to Joaquin Phoenix! (vegan....and so hot! ) Anyway, I was just wondering who else you guys would vote for? Or maybe you do think Chris Martin is hot? Kind of a silly thread I know, but I'm curious

I normally get lots of nice comments about T-shirts etc, until the other day. I was at the gym the other day wearing one of the Black Vegan fitness Singlets when one of the gym staff turned to one of the Meat Heads and said "I bet you're glad you're wearing a black singlet, like him now" making it very clear, he was having a dig at me being vegan. I didn't say anything I just calmly walked over and started benching, doing a couple of sets at 110kg (which around 30kg higher than anything I had seen them Max), I stared them down and made it pretty clear the Vegan in the Black Singlet had just kicked their A*se..... All in all, it was very satisfying.

(this is my long usual rambling posts) as many of you have read I'm going thru a rough phase in my life trying to figure out how Im gonna manage to live. Ive come to a rough decision but Ive decided that $10,000 more in debt to get certified isnt worth it. (in the end I will have to pay back about $8600 loan, and food, transportation, etc, not to mention I already have a couple thousand dollar loan I am paying right now.) If I really want to be certified I can spend $500 like Kalani suggested and get certified as a personal trainer that way over the internet. I already know the hands on stuff, so why go to a school for something I already know? Its just gonna waste…

The taste of meat I mean... the other day I had some grilled falafel that was prepared on a grill with left over grease from kebab meat- and while I made sure to ask the cook to place my falafels on some tin foil, so that it wouldn't come in touch with meat fat- I ended up tasting meat fat anyways... ...And DAMN did that taste good! I realise this is an admission that doesn't go too well with my veggie convictions but it's the truth. Because unlike the few vegetarians I know I didn't become vegetarian for health reasons or simply because I didn't like the taste of meat. In fact quite the opposite- I primarily became vegetarian for moral reasons- my conscience just cou…
