Hey guys I'm just curious exactly which muscles are being used when holding weight on one shoulder? This is what I do for a job: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7hs0tw2uk1Q/TjU6cuUERJI/AAAAAAAABFw/i67pPkGV7qo/s1600/shoulder_cam.png I don't do a lot of shoulder shooting at the moment, but I will do in the future, and I'm wondering what I can do to build up strength and stability before I have to do it "for real". A typical TV camera weighs between 8 and 12kg. Right now it takes a good while before my shoulder and back start to burn. However it is exaggerated when I have to get in a position less comfortable than standing up straight (crouching, half crouching, leaning forw…

I like it!! For hypertrophy purposes, the thing I've found is that when the resistance is super heavy, your focus is purely directed toward just moving the weight from A to B, but when the weight is moderately heavy, you can get a better mind to muscle connection and really focus on making every inch of the movement hard on the given bodypart. I also find it nearly impossible to squeeze and really contract the muscles hard if the resistance is too heavy. Good chart:)

Hi! Is there a weight lifting program I can do 3-4x a week for fat loss? Is that even possible? I would like to lose the fat while keeping the muscle. I'm at a total loss as to what I should do regarding lifting and nutrition. Any advice would be great! Thanks in advance!

I am gearing towards full body workouts with compound exercises. I am wondering if anyone does this and should I be tweaking my diet a little? Also, I am looking for a solid, affordable vegan BCAA supplement?

I am a future sports instructor and my final work is about vegan bodybuilding / fitness-athletics. I figured this forum could be a way to find someone to interview. Could you be my interviewee? I would need 3-5people, competing or non-competing, some people with visible achievements. I need to prove my fellow students (and teachers) wrong when they say a VEGAN bodybuilder / fitness-athlete cannot exist. Please contact me -> [email protected] (or here on this forum) if you feel like you could help me. I am a bit short of time so the quicker the better. And it is easy, all you have to do is answer my survey and probably some extra questions later on. Let's veganize th…

I just got a really physical job, and it's fast paced heavy lifting. My muscles keep getting more sore everyday. I was wondering, what kind of foods do people recommend for muscles to recover faster? I don't usually like to supplement when I work out, but what kinds of supplements would people recommend?

hey everybody i would like to have some tips about the french press. i am following a list of exercise to build mass, every month they change, this month i have an annoying exercise which is giving me troubles, i am trying to make the french press but it seems like my triceps cant afford that effort even if i always try to train them with pull downs-45kg (i know that trains the dorsal more but i feel the pump to my triceps too). Question is, would you give me some advice to try to make this exercise without problems? or should i try to make other exercises for the triceps before? thank you all

Well I'm doing okay, manage to get to the gym four times a week after being sick and hurt for a bit. I'm still having a problem with my arms though. I can deadlift, squat and so on quite a bit of weight, not as much as the huge guys here but still above average. However my arms have always been and still are my weakest body part. They never seem to grow or get stronger, I can't even do chin up as they just wont lift my weight (which is embarrassing). It's getting to the point where they are even starting to hold me back with bench's and overhead's as they will tire out before anything else. Is there anything I can do to get them up to speed with the rest of me?

Hey guys I am new to the vegan thing. I have been a vegan before, for about 4 months but due to the fact that I was not getting the right nutrients I got sick and had to stop (did not have too I just wanted to get back to building muscle faster) I want to gain some muscle while being a vegan, but I need some suggestions on bean recipes, good easy on the go vegan protein pact food, and anything else that is good to burn fat and put on lean muscle. One of my buddies who has been vegan for couple years told me vitamins he take to stay healthy for triathlons and such so I now know what vitamins i should take and where to get the nutrients from, but just wanted some extra help…

Has anybody taken the e-teach NASM class. If so how does the quizzes and exams from the course compare to the real exam. Or if anybody recently took the nasm example -- how did you find the exam. Which areas should I focus more on to pass

Hi im 17 years old ive been i wouldn't say bodybuilding but working out on and off for 3 years haven't really gotten anywhere cuz i broke my wrist a while back playing rugby and haven't gotten back into it. Ive been sorta vegan for over year giving in every now and then but recently turned full vegan about 3 months ago. So my questions are: 1. I know that all plants have protein in them but you need to eat a lot to get enough and being on a plant strong diet where do you get it? 2. i keep hearing that when it comes to protein its quality over quantity so coming from meat eating bodybuilders where "you need a shit ton of protein to grow" and the macros are like 40% ca…

Hello!!! Newbie is here I've just jumped in I want to join the gym but few questions in my mind still holding me up and I would appreciate any help to clear them First of all my height is: 185CM & my weight is :65 Kg (these are as far as I'm concern as I checked last time but would be much different if there's,maybe 60 kg for the weight) I had a hip fracture back in 2007 and a joint dislocation in my left shoulder. Now I'm fine but my leg "hip" doesn't move free because it's not in it's original position I mean it doesn't move smoothly and up to it's highest angle "Am I clear!!" So I read that in the gym you can either : 1- Bulk with fat 2-Bulk pure musc…

I have been doing the heavy body weight exercises and have gained about two pounds in the last two weeks. I cannot calculate my strength increases, but I know I need to add weight to my weighted elevated push ups, pull ups and pistol squats at least. I would love to keep this kind of progress going when I return to the gym with a vengeance, hopefully in four weeks. Are there any tips to gaining back what my muscles have forgotten? I want to get back up there in the fastest manner possible. Maybe some tips that are not conventional to true newbie gains? Or is it essentially the same as newbie gains/training?

hi, i´ve been dealing with this problem and have search for info everywhere but i dont know what i should do. As an ectomorph i am quite thin and hardgainer, except for my belly... ive get rid of most of it but i cant get rid of the last fat layer. ive read that as ectomorph i should not be doing cardio, but if i dont do cardio i wont burn this fat. also because i am an ectomorph i eat huge amounts of food... so, what should i do? should i try, for example, 5-10 min cardio post workout? one day 45min cardio? what would it be better? thanx

hi guys, i've been on holidays (away from university) for the last two weeks, and the gym i usually go to is on the way there, anyway, i've basically been slacking off for most of the time, after going to the gym without breaks for like 6 months beforehand, i've worked in a few push and pull days, and a leg day, but not nearly as frequent as normal ontop of that i've prettymuch forgot about my macros almost completely (stopped taking protein powders, and sofu/beans every day) and just been eating some nice whole foods anyway, i'm working back into my routine, and after about a week without lifting, ihit the bench at home and noticed my strength has gone way up since bef…

This is included in my introduction, but I thought I would put it here as well.... I'm afraid my diet isn't doing me any favors. It has worked well for me in dropping pounds (I've lost 83 pounds over the last year), but I really want to lean out, and just start shedding the little body fat that is left. I would love some pointers... My Current Stats: Male, 165lbs, 18% body fat, 5'7", 33 years. Current Goal: 10% body fat, or less. Routine: 4x/week, heavy weights, functional training. Food: Meal 1: 3.5oz apple, 1 cup oatmeal, cinnamon - 352.5 cals Meal 2: Approx 7oz apple - 100 cals (+- 5) Meal 3: 6oz grilled tofu, 6oz steamed broccoli - 320 cals Meal 4: Two slices …

Hi, I'm new to the forum --and I've recently relocated to Europe. When I was in Canada, a large percentage of my diet consisted of "Vega Sport" protein powder. I bumped into a professional rugby player here in France (by chance) and I was a bit surprised to hear that he orders the same stuff delivered, all the way from Canada, partly because it is cheaper than veg. options produced in Europe. The guy wasn't an expert, and he had arrived here recently himself, but that seemed to me a worrying sign. He gets dehydrated pea-protein delivered from Canada? There must be better (or more cost effective) options, no? If there are any members based in Europe (or in France …

Hey folks, So after leaving New Zealand for California and now starting again in Sweden, I'm needing to get back in the gym. I know myself, and I want to get some structure before I get there and forget to follow a plan (I'll usually just do my favourite exercises and neglect certain things if given the chance). Since it's been a while, I'm looking at starting with 3 days per week (Mon, Wed, Fri). I'm looking for some kind of well rounded plan that I can increase my load with over 8 weeks and then I'll look at it again. This is what I'm thinking... Day 1: - Heavy Compound: Deadlifts - Pull Ups - Seated Row - One Arm Dumbell Rows Day 2: - Heavy Compound: Overhe…

i am having results about muscles but not so much about the extra fat around my hips and on my belly.. currently i am 16% of body fat. i am generally movin a lot, even if this week i had down moods so i have been at home more often doing nothing. My cardio is nothing more than 15 minutes of cyclette pre-workout and a lot of walking during the day. but i feel is not enough. what do you suggest? just running? (now is coming winter in berlin and i guess running with -15 with snow wouldnt be the best thing to do), or do you know a special cardio-plan schedule? I even wanted to know how do you behave with the food after the cardio during the days off? carbs? or only fruits and…
