endcruelty
"As of right now I am a vegan. I put that off until after I was done with this tournament." "eats imitation crab meat like string cheese" she wasn't vegan during the games? now it's over for her so she goes vegan? .... or am i reading that wrong or something? Tarz
You read it right endcruelty. The bronze medal winner has since turned vegan, but wasn't actually a vegan whilst competing.

robert
I started the same way...didn't think I could do bodybuilding while vegan so wanted to try it first...........but that didn't last long because I discovered that I could do it on a vegan diet and hence the site and the community. I'm sure we weren't all "perfect" the first time out. I just like to support anyone's quest to become vegan and honor them for making that commitment and making it public. CollegeB
maybe she'll make it into the olympics as a vegan next year. I'd like that a lot.
RAINRA
It is just great that she mentioned the word vegan and lifestyle... the more that word gets out in the media in a positive way people will be much more accepting and may even try it. great to know that others are out there pushing this. Alex
Indeed, it would be really awesome to see some vegan althletes in the Olympics. Maybe even a gold winner one of these years.
Richard
I wish it was made clear why they put off being vegan until after the event. My initial reaction to it is that they are saying they couldn't have done the event on a vegan diet. But they could just mean that they had been planning to become vegan, and this was the time they had planned to do it. But without that distinction being made, I feel like it is almost a negative way to talk about veganism. Of course, it is good that they are going to become vegan. But this mentioning of it, in this way, I am not sure if it's a good thing.
