Re-gaining control. It's on like Donkey Kong

Recommended Posts

here are some progress pics of my abs. I really need better lighting (and a tan wouldn't hurt, I look like casper) any suggestions on how to take better pictures?

You look great already! I would kill for a nice stomach like that!

As for photos, my only suggestion is natural light and no flash.

I'll have to try the natural light. This might work for my abs shots, but most of the natural light is in the front of my house. maybe I'll just have to shoot in a bathing suit and keep my neighboors wondering

Awesome!

Shredded wheat!

Hope to catch up with you and Myke in D.C. sometime this year.

I hope so, I won't be able to make the competition on Aug.15, I'll be out of town (it's my only vacation this year, the very short weekend in between the summer semester and my last semester) I'm hoping to be ready to compete early next year sometime. gives me a bit more time to get my arms looking awesome now that I'm a bit more able to handle heavier weights with the shoulder. Are you still thinking of competing in DC this year?

Well lets all workout. Name the time and the place get Myke out and what not and let me know. I work in new Carrolton so if a weekday you guys are free or if there is a week end you guys want to get fit let me know. Hit me up on my cell. Let me know if you dont have it. I am always pretty much down to workout hard.

Haven't been on in what seems like a while... My 1t semester is done (got an A in Spanish) but I will most likely be on here once in awhile. I started my next semester and am taking 2 classes, cognitive psych...NOT MY THING!!!

I will try to keep everyone posted on my progress (or lack thereof )

Cognitive psych is kicking my butt!!! ahh! the average in the class on quizzes is an 11 out of 20, which in my professor's sick mind is a 'C'. In other news, I am officially applied to grad school for sociology (which I enjoy SO SO SO much more than psych)

Question-

I am looking to enter a fitness model or bikini comp early next year (hopefully one not far from this area because of school I won't be able to travel too far)- how can I find out what comps will be going on next year (and on this side of the country?)

I am going to my 4th shoulder appt. today. I am demanding an MRI and am done with the stupid meds! I refuse to take that crap when I have no clue what is even wrong.

By the way I don't have your cell... We'll have to see about that work out session. Days are pretty packed right now (we just moved)

Once we get all settled in we plan on having a little house warming, of course our VBBF family is more than welcome

ANYONE???

Anyhow...

I have another MRI tomorrow, I feel a little bit more hopeful with this one. They are looking to see if there is any compression of my thoracic outlet area. They're imaging my brachial plexus and supraclavical. I have been doing some research online and found this: TOS or Thoracic outlet syndrome, I can relate to MANY of the symptoms. So hope I can get some answers. I don't plan on giving up on this if the MRI comes back with nothing. Apparently TOS is often misdiagnosed.

Thanks lobsteriffic,

I had the MRI. I might have to go back for one with contrast (never done that before and it honestly scares the crap out of me!)

Have another appt. with the ortho next week do go over my MRI, i'll keep you all posted. In the meantime I'll be living in pain (that wont seem to go away!!)

Hey all..question.

I am writing down what I am eating today and will post it soon. (it'll be a bit different from my normal, since we don't have much left in our kitchen, we're going away for the weekend and didn't want anything to go bad)

I am wondering if I am consuming enough calories and/or carbs to help support muscle gain. I am still working hard and lifting heavy and maybe I am still making gains, but I feel like I have not seen any new gains.

will post by tonight.

Just to let everyone know, I am scheduling an appointment with a doctor at Hopkins who is a specialist in Thoracic outlet syndrome (my ortho was concerned this is what is going on with my shoulder.) apparently it's a bitch to get diagnosed. I feel like a person on that TV show medical mystery

hahaha

Sorry I didn't get it up last night (that's what she said...) yesterday was hell. I spent the whole afternoon on the phone with my insurance companay, the doctor at hopkins doesn't except my insurance ao I have to pay for the appointment out of pocket. But they want me to have an ultrasound of my arteries around my brachial plexus to make sure there are no blockages from compression. So... I have to see if this will be covered by my insurance, still have more phone calls today. On top of that crap, I had a final in psych (thank god it's over!)

anywho, this isn't exactly what I ate yesterday but it's about what I eat on a regular:

breakfast

2 1/2 tbs choco rice protien

1/2 banana

1tbs PB

1 cup low sugar choco soymilk (on the days I work out)

snack

1/4 cup oatmeal

12 almonds

1 scoop nitrofusion (somtimes with either raspberries or strawberris and water and ice)

lunch

I'll cook up some seitan, 2 vegetables (like brocolli or a bunch of romainne lettuce) have an eziekiel wrap with an avacado. (I usually eat half of what I cook up)

snack

if I work out that day: cliff builder

if not: an apple and 1tbs PB

dinner

letfover lunch, no wrap

Usually have water at everymeal, although I should be drinking more. Looking at this now, it feel like I should be measuring out my veggies more. I'm sure I should be eating a whole lot more of them.

I've been working out M-W-F (for now, when the next senester starts, I'd like to do M/T off WEd. and thurs/friday. That is if the doctor doesn't find some crap that requires surgery

I had my ultrasound at Hopkins today...good news is I don't have any life threatening blood clots in my left shoulder region. But I still have an appointment with the doc there in October, so I'm not completely out of the clear yet. At least it doesn't look too serious
