xvx ben
I know it's a popular saying but I was wondering if anyone had seen/heard anything scientific about coffee affecting growth negatively. I never used to drink it but they moved me to the opening shift at the coffee shop where I work a few months ago, so 5am mornings plus free coffee = a two or three cup per morning habit... francesca
in Italy body builders drink coffe(espresso is much stronger than american coffe) They also dring sugarless red bull, which contains caffeine, before work out If this would affect growth negatively believe me when I say that they wouldn't drink them
cubby2112
I am pretty sure this is an urban legend. Here is an article from the NYT that assents:NYT
medman
Coffee doesn't stunt bone growth (the urban legend). I've never heard of any negative effect of caffeine on muscle growth, either. Its mechanism of action (basically enhancing the effect of adrenaline at the molecular level within your cells) doesn't raise any alarms either, since adrenaline is something that can - and should! - be abundant in anyone's bloodstream while working out.
