Holiday workout woes

How do you all keep on track with your workouts during the holidays? Or do you recognize it's that time of year & do your best knowing you'll get back to it after the first of the year.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

It's three hours out of my week and I work out on my lunch hour. No problem to keep up any time really. I was out of town this weekend though and booked a hotel with a fitness center. They neglected to mention that their fitness center had been gutted for rennovation. Still only one missed workout though, no big deal.

Best suggestion if you really can't work out is to remember that it's what you do most of the time that adds up and counts. Too many people feel that they have messed up and quit. If you miss a few sessions, don't worry about or try to "make it up". Just pick up with your next workout and keep on going.

I still train during the Xmas and New Year period, although not as much as I usually do. I don't like to do absolutely nothing.

It's good to ease up and your body probably appreciates a rest. I tell myself I will be back in my normal routine once the holiday season is over.

Same goes for vacations.

During the holidays, I anticipate that I'll work out more than normal since I'll have so much more free time than usual. My kids will be in California with their dad's family for a couple weeks, none of my family is local and I'm not travelling this year, so I don't have any family commitments at all. I don't get into the whole commercialism thing that we do in the US at Christmas, so I won't be wasting my days shopping for gifts.

Plus, the gym won't be crowded at all, so I'll want to stay longer and enjoy it.
