I've spent 1½ week going really light to focus on technique/form and another week going a bit heavyer. Current lifting stats - Squat 47,5kg- Overhead Press 32,5kg- Deadlift 70kg- Bench press 37,5kg The photos are from November 23. 2008 So this is me.. http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp76/CasperXVX/mig6.jpg You know you're a rookie when your chin is more flexed than your arms http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp76/CasperXVX/mig4.jpg And the ol' back http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp76/CasperXVX/mig5.jpg Edited June 15, 2009 by xCx
tuc
Not a bad form to start building muscles on to! I bet when you get your technique right you'll be able to lift a LOT more than your current stats say in a matter of weeks! I'm really looking forward to see how you end up with since you're big but low bf % to begin with! With a proper nutrition & workout you'll be ridiculously big vegan. Guest
I second what tuc said - you look good already! Damn mesomorphs... I'm 99% sure you can get seriously big and strong if proper training and nutrition is applied.
sosso
I agree. I think you have potential to be huge. Stronglifts seems like a good program. Nice tattoos too!
xCx
Thanks for all the kind replies It's really motivational with comments like these! I'm beginning to feel confident with the different techniques and right now I'm adding min. 2.5kg on every workout, which is proving a bit difficult on my squats. The reason for this is that my "gym" has no squat rack, only a stupid smith machine, thus forcing me to power clean+overhead pressing the weight onto my back. bronco
You do look like you have a good foundation for getting strong. I'm beginning to feel confident with the different techniques and right now I'm adding min. 2.5kg on every workout, which is proving a bit difficult on my squats. The reason for this is that my "gym" has no squat rack, only a stupid smith machine, thus forcing me to power clean+overhead pressing the weight onto my back.In that case it could be worth doing front squats instead. You should quickly be able to backsquat more than you can safely get onto your back by overhead pressing. Looking for another gym could also be a good idea . xCx
Looking for another gym could also be a good idea . I've thought about changing gym but the place I'm going to know is a university gym, which is ridiculously cheap. However! I have been hassling the gym manager about the rack and I think I might’ve convinced the guy, so I’ll hang around a bit longer. Untill then I'll try frontsquatting instead
xCx
So, here's a little update from December 10. Unfortunately my cam died while taking these photos, so i only managed to get two off of it :/ I've just noticed that I have freakishly long arms..http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp76/CasperXVX/CIMG4208copy.jpg And my thighhttp://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp76/CasperXVX/CIMG4210.jpg Next time I think I'll get some shots right after my workout. that way i'll look nice and pumped, haha. Oh and tuc, you were right about putting on more weight after nailing the technique I've added around 20-30kg to most of my lifts and still going strong. Im Your Man
I think you did some really good progress, comparing your latest pic of your back with your older one. Also, judging from the front pic you posted in november, I think you have a potential to build really good abs!
xCx
Found my digicam this morning and decided to take a few quick shots http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp76/CasperXVX/3.jpg http://i399.photobucket.com/albums/pp76/CasperXVX/1.jpg I couldn't decide which of the three to pick, so i uploaded all of em' I've got a loooong way to go still, but I'm quite satisfied with the achievement of overall thickness so fare.. xCx
Arms are much thicker man, looks great. You still on the stronglifts 5x5? I'm a week into it now lol Thanks man I'm no longer doing SL. Rest times between sets just made my workout last forever, so i switched to a similar program called Starting Strength. This shortened my workouts and also enabled me to add more weight. But i think you should stick with SL for as long as you can
