PLANT FOODS ARE NOT AS OPTIMAL FOR BUILDING MUSCLE MASS AS MEAT AND DAIRY.

Veganism isn't a choice that we make to build huge bodies, it's a choice we make to support compassion. NO, a vegan diet isn't optimal for building mass, but who cares, at least nothing has to suffer for our muscle.

But that DOESN'T give you an excuse to ignore established scientific fact in some random quest to prove veganism is a superior diet to everything else in the world...

wikipedia is far from established scientific facts. There was a time when it was thought that the Earth was flat. Ones things for sure and that's that humans haven't figured out exactly what to eat. One expert says this, the next says that is crap do this. There's not one nutrient In a Omni diet that you can't get on a vegan diet(again no one say B12)

That one needs more then 200 grams of protein? Then eat more food.

Telling people new to veganism that you have to supplement 1/3 of the macro nutrients(fat, protein, carbs) is like trying to sell a car to someone without a engine. A vegan diet can be compete and good for everyone without supplements just like a Omni diet can be, it's a matter of eatting the right foods and the right amounts. Before someone says B12 i'd like to point out that the majority of people with a B12 def are omni people, so it's probably best for everyone to supplement with that.

This is a bodybuiding forum as the name suggests. No one said that a you could not get a healthy diet without supplements. It's like a broken record that keeps on skipping. I love your suggestion to "just eat more".

No the light will never come on. Don't you ever get tired of proselytizing. Most of these people here don't want to hear your holier than though BS. We all know what a good diet consists of. And it's not walking some tight rope.

Let me ask you something. Are you right now working on muscle gain in some sort of workout program?

You're not going tell everyone how to bake cookies, when you've never baked cookies before, are you?

Yes i lift weights for strength and size is a natural part that comes with that. I know i'm one of the stronger guys on this forum. I know VeganEssentials is a hell of alot stronger and probably a couple other guys are stronger, but overall i'm stronger then most. before march i hadn't lifted since high school which was around 4 years before that. I have friends of all strength levels and of all diets, so over the years i noticed trends. I have a 47 year old friend(NO drugs, No Supplements) Veg diet, around 20 percent protein and is one of the strongest natural guys i've ever seen. I'm getting faster and better strength gains then anyone at my gym i go to. I'm one of two vegan guys there and most guys there are eatting massive amounts of protein shakes, chicken, eggs and all that. the main trend i've noticed is the people(any diet) getting the best results are people that eat the most amounts of real whole foods. And people that get there protein from whole foods

So post your workout, show us you diet and lets see some picture. And let us be the judge.

If you seen my posts on the the strength/ BB section you know what lifts i perfer. My main goal has been training for MMA and that's what the majority of my training is.

My diet is simple yet effective, Whole unprocessed vegan foods, no rules or regulations. I eat alot to fuel my training and every thing else falls into place, done the math enough to know what i'm doing

Picture? Is this some sort of modeling contest? This summer i'll get a tan put on a little pink thong and show you jk. I'll post a video once i hit 500 Dl, 405 bench which ever i hit first. Bench right now is around 330, so i'll probbly hit the DL goal first since my DL is going up at a very fast rate

Dr. Pink, sir . . . as you can see there are many different opinions as to what is and isn't beneficial and/or correct in your quest for high quality protein. Perhaps now, it will be up to you to make your own informed decisions as to what works for you.

For me, personally, I have supplemented with protein powders for well over 40 years. Soy in the 60s and 70s, and now I use hemp and pea protein. I do supplement my protein supplements with plenty of whole, unrefined food as well. My health is still good, my blood levels are great, and I am still able to work a full week with a full workout schedule. I have also found that combinations of complimentary protein sources digest better and cause little or no gas. This in turn gives me more energy and a feeling of well being. The difference I feel between supplementing and combining complimentary proteins is significent. No scientific articles here, just personal experience.

i sold my soap box for some ormus gold this year lol

So what your thought on the ormus gold:

You're taking too much, or not enough?

Omus is like the easter bunny you'll never see it, but you know it's real. I personally think the majority of the raw food movement is a joke and profit driven, but that doesn't mean raw foods are bad. It's just like alot of things in life bad people looking to capitalize on a good thing

The data from nutritiondata.com is pulled from the USDA Nutrition database. Most web sites and even software you have to pay for does this.

I'm guessing here, but that database isn't about making recommendations, just providing information. The database also lists all manner of junk and fast foods.
