As we've been hinting lately, Lean and Green and I have been planning on competing on the same stage on the same day in the same weight class. Octopussoir just joined the mix and it will be a BIG day for veganism!

Here are a few of my pics from 4 months away:

We're all about 16 weeks away:

Thanks to Tasha for taking them today. I'm not in "great shape" but I've got 4 months and I've already started more hardcore training, a better nutrition program, etc.

Anyway, here are a few pics from today after a Leg Workout:

Lean and Green and Octo....where you at? May I also ask....Troy??????? Big 4?

Some additional photos of me.....Lean and Green and Octo are encouraged to post current pics as well.

I just thought of it now.....maybe, since we're all in "good shape" year round, we may be able to sustain a multiple-city, multiple-contest tour as Vegan Bodybuilders and get some companies, organizations and individuals to fund it......SeaSiren, you helped inspire an idea.

Lean and Green, Octo, and Troy if you're interested....would you guys be open to that....hitting a few contests, in a few cities, week after week for maybe a month and get groups to fund it, and have lots of media behind it?

Shall we not just make history, but make a lasting impression on communities across the nation?

Thanks for supporting our quest to the stage TOGETHER. I wish Octo (and Troy if interested) were here in Portland too. Lean and Green and I will push each other hard. Today I was really hammering it and he was right there supporting me and spotting me the whole time. This will be an incredible personal journey destined to inspire a generation of people to think differently.

Let's make it happen....Together!

Thank you....and I just thought of something moments ago too...that in addition to the sponsorship money we can get from various companies and organizations in order to make this happen, I'm sure we could raise quite a bit of money just from forum member donations for those who want to support this project.

If each registered forum member donated $10, we'd raise over $15,000 just for this project that could in a very tangible sense, help change the world.

If 100 of our most active, supportive and loyal members donated $25 each, we'd raise $2500, and if we could get 200 members to commit to it, we'd double that amount and really create a lot of opportunities to hire PR help, facilitate our travel, our eating expenses to prepare ourselves and our contest entree fees, hotels, etc. Of course, we'd be as responsible as possible and cut costs and save money as often as we can, but we'd really be able to make this something special.

I'm just writing publicly and haven't even talked to Lean and Green and Octo, but their own lives and work schedules permitting, if I know them as well as I think I do, they would love to be part of this history-making team of competitive vegan bodybuilders traveling the country for just 5 weeks or so to take a stand, and make a difference.

  • 2 weeks later...

haha, good point!

FYI, for the record, I haven't missed a scheduled workout in weeks and have vomited in the gym twice in the past 10 days from my intensity, including throwing up all over the gym upstairs and downstairs two days ago after training legs.

Oh yeah, and I'm going to be shredded wheat soon! I'm pressing heavy weights, doing a lot of compound lifts, adding pounds and supplementing everyday, working with a trainer, and getting swol again.

I haven't been online as much because I'm preparing my own food (and tasha is helping) and I'm focused on contest prep, training, working, etc.

Oh..and Yeah Buddy!

I thought the Big Three were

VeganEssentials, El Flaco and Avi Lehyani

I'm afraid he's right!

You guys still look pretty awesome! Robert looks bigger and a bit more ripped than before, Octo seems to have improved his legs to round his physique... and L&G hasn't really shown what he's got yet But I'm sure he's up to the challenge as well!

Thanks, it's fun working hard

We will provide little video updates, photos, and have detailed training journals too

Here is some info to think about as well as we move forward.

Thanks!

It is official.....Lean and Green (Jack Marchese), Octopussoir (Jimi Sitko) and myself (Robert Cheeke) are competing together, on the same stage in the same class on the same day together as a team to promote veganism.

I have contacts with the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, VegNews Magazine and many other publications and we plan on making this a major news story for veganism. All of us are completely dedicated to this project and are working very hard to represent veganism in a positive way.

It looks like our competition will be in Phoenix, AZ, a state none of us live in, but the most appropriate location based on the timing and situation we're in (looking for a competition in late April in the Western part of the country).

This will no doubt cost us a lot of money to train for the next 4 months, travel to Arizona, stay at a hotel for days, enter the contest and compete. It is just part of the process and we're seeking any support we can get as we work extremely hard to make history and make a difference.

If you would like to make any donations, please make paypal payments to:

[email protected] (note the er ending) or make financial contributions in the form of checks to:

Robert Cheeke

Vegan Bodybuilding & Fitness

6103 NE 6th Ave

Portland, OR 97211

USA

Thank you in advance. We will make history while making a difference in the lives of many and making a statement for veganism in athletics.

Thank you for your support. Any donation, even $10 through paypal is appreciated and supports our mission.

We will all keep detailed journals to keep you up to date on our progress. We're really bonding as a team, in touch via phone or e-mail daily as we support each other through this challenging process of being at our very best come late April.

From all of us, we thank you sincerely.

Robert - Jack - Jimi

Hey Octo, looking really shredded man. Great stuff! We'll continue to be in touch about our upcoming contest.

Note to others, we're still looking for any kind of financial support to help us with our training, travels to the competition and entry to the competition. We're all fundraising and just seeking additional support as well. Some media outlets have been contacted and major publications like the New York Times will be contacted soon. We all promise to be in outstanding shape to represent veganism well.

Feel free to send any donations to:

Paypal = [email protected]

or

Glad to hear we're inspiring some already and just wait til we get closer to the contest and are in truly awesome shape and have a media buzz around it!

Octo,

Your legs are looking really good! Abs are always solid, arms, chest and back are strengths too, but I'm most impressed by your legs, including hamstrings.

Speaking of legs....here is my calf with my friend Kayley's feet. She's 6 and totally awesome! I leave tomorrow and return home but it has been a great vacation with my boss and his family.

I figured I'd send some baby calves your way....................

We'll get more photos of Lean and Green too! I'll go check in on him in PDX....though I hear he's training and eating!

One thing that amazes me is that we have L&G building this muscle on a raw diet (IDK how many cals), Rob on a good size calorie diet, and Octo on a lower cal diet, and yet everyone is doing great building muscle and preparing for the competition. It really shows how much personal genetics can play a role in how much you should eat!

Lean and Green and I trained Legs today.

Here are a few photos.

He was too busy squatting like 560 pounds so there are more photos of me since I was frequently behind the camera.

Solid workout today. We're about 12 weeks out right now so we're maintaining mass, adding a bit of mass and will start getting shredded soon as well.

We look forward to posting more pics and we look forward to seeing more of Octopussoir's pics as well!
