JW
I read an article on crossfit a couple months ago.The gym I go to embraces some of itGreat workouts! I fully intend on going back to them once my "bulking phase" ends sorry to hear about your sinus issues. Dare I ask how they go about draining your sinuses? MaryStella
Thanks everyone I really hope I feel better soon too! Because if I don't I will need surgery on my sinuses as well as my shoulder. YUCK YUCK YUCK!!! I am disappointed in my workouts the last month or so but I just haven't been feeling well. I just can't wait to get back at it for real. I've never been sick this long before in my life. All the equipment got delivered to the crossfit gym today so tomorrow I will be dropping by to see the setup and pick up my key. I am so excited! @joelk - i just realized I never sent you the recipes I promised with the yerba mate. OOPS! I will get on that I promise! Also thanks for the food compliment. I love to cook (and eat) so if you ever want anything of the recipes for meals I posted just let me know and I will send those too. By the way I tried the protein fudge and it didn't come out well. It is edible but it tastes like I am eating sun warrior right out of the container. I think I need more coconut butter or something. I swapped out the cocoa powder with carob to lower the caffeine content. Maybe that was it. I don't know for sure. I will experiment with it again. @jw - crossfit claims that you get bigger on crossfit than traditional bodybuilding but I don't really think so.I just don't think it is enough work compared to hours of bodybuilding. I do think they are great workouts though for a cutting phase or to crosstrain for other sports. I initially started doing crossfit to crosstrain for kickboxing but now as kickboxing is out because of the shoulder I am using crossfit and adding in running etc. Glad your gym is into it. I swear me and brennan are the only two that crossfit at our gym and literally people stare at us like they have never seen someone work out before. joelk
Your workouts make me tired just reading them.... True. Makes my workouts seem pretty lame, especially because I spent so much time f'ing around between sets I love those Lara bars
JW
it looks like you have some rest period between sets in your workouts? Sounds like the weekend workouts at my gym are similar. We usually have circuits of weight stations and cardio stations in 30 second increments with maybe 10 seconds between to set up at the new station.Weekends however.... are similar to what you have postedthey are just insane!!! but ya gotta love them
MaryStella
What are Roce milk and Suncakes? Your workouts make me tired just reading them.... Oops - bad typer - it should be Rice Milk. Suncakes are energy bars made from oats, soy and fruit. They don't have any oil. I order them offline but health food stores in the states sell them but i am not sure about canada. if you do decide to order online I believe they will send you six free and also I have codes I can give you to get some free goodies too. http://www.suncakes.com/what2.html I also eat the heart thrives too. They are good. I store them in the freezer and just take them out as I eat them.

MaryStella
Your workouts make me tired just reading them.... True. Makes my workouts seem pretty lame, especially because I spent so much time f'ing around between sets I love those Lara bars I've gotten so many people that are not vegan eating larabars. It makes me happy! Thanks for the compliments on my workout. I like to keep it intense. My rest periods are usually only as long as it takes for me to get setup as a lot of my workouts I do for time. Meaning how long it takes me to get off the back extension and sit down on a ball. I usually run between stations to save time. I don't like rest unless I am going for a PB deadlifting or something like that. Which I haven't done since my injury. I am not trying to build up ATP with rest. Also I am not doing bodybuilding. I am working for power, strength, conditioning. The aesthetics are just a bonus not my intended result. I don't really talk too much when I am working out, unless I am add plates to a bar or something like that. Usually I only like to talk before or after not during. Some guy actually was trying to talk to me when I was doing broad jumps across the gym yesterday. I was like you have got to be kidding me. I add the thirty second rest if I really need after a vigorous potion. I see my little interval timer on my watch so I can't cheat. It also helps deter those trying to talk to u when they hear the watch go off they know it is go time. I think it is great to change the different variables of workouts not just keep increasing weight. Probably why I like Crossfit. It is functional strength. It made me think, while kickboxing is fun is it really worth the injuries to me? While I am upset I need surgery I am glad it wasn't anything worse that couldn't be surgically repaired. MaryStella
@aluck - yeah I gotta get a picture of myself to put up. I have been using ones that people took of me. Guess I gotta take one myself. wasn't the greatest training day or meal day but I got some really nice compliments at the gym. Oddly numerous people individually came up to more over the course of a few hours and told me how much they enjoyed watching me fight. Some of them were even fighters i've trained with. It was so nice to have people you train with tell you what a positive energy you bring to training and how they admire your work ethic etc. That meant a lot to me. Some even said they just enjoy watching me train even when I am not fighting. It made me feel good. They all seem to think I will recover from this injury quickly with the work ethic I have so it just made me feel so good. Just wanted to share that. 5.7.9Shoulder Stability Circuit - V Raises, Rear Delt Raises, Scapular Pushups - 3 x 15 w/ 6 lb DBs Superset - 3 rounds of Inner - 100 X 10 - actually got all reps this time without failing Outer - 150 X 10 Superset - 3 rounds of Bicep Curls - 12 X 15 these always seems weird to me - not sure if it is because of the shoulder injury or because it isn't an exercise I would normally do with the shoulder injury.Tricep extension - 40 lbs x 10 SupersetDecline Bench Situps 30 X BWAb Crunches w/ 20 lbs Row - 3200 meters - 18 minutes SupersetDecline Bench Situps 30 X BWAb Crunches w/ 20 lbs Meals1 - VEGA w/ Coconut Water & Hemp Milk2 - Larabar3 - Tofu Spinach Raviolis w/ Marinara Sauce, Sprouted Wheat Berry Bagel4 - Granola with Rice Milk5 - Banana6 - Hummus with Ezekiel Sprouted Grain Tortilla, Peanut Butter and Sunwarrior
