Nonveganism is the most unintelligent thing that can exist. I don't like how meat eaters pretend they make sense. They have learning problems, and diseases at a young age. Look at Leonardo da Vinci, who came from a family so poor they couldn't afford a last name. He only rose to the top of the intellectuals in his society because he could also not afford animal products. Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, Hippocrates, were all philosophers who believed that the consumption of an animal was like being stupid in general. I would agree with Socrates that animal products are the retardation of the planet.

Considering the above list, what was the single most important factor that led to your becoming vegetarian?

Being a causer of pain is like causing yourself pain. I suppose you could put that under the #1.

I believe that when we commodify and objectify animals, we're not only taking away the rights of those beings, but also denying ourselves the right to exist without doing ourselves harm through enslaving others. That very enslavement ends up degrading world and the quality of life for all beings.

10. Other(s). Please identify. In answer to 1. I think it is of importance how they are killed and what kind of life they led i.e. free range/battery farmed etc. I don't think there is anything wrong with killing animals for food per se, as long as it is done with respect and done only when necessary for survival. The main reason I turned vegan is because the differences between carnivores and humans are great and many and points towards humans not being geared up physically to eat large amounts of meat and animal products without great detriment.
