Meagan (The Vegan) Duhamel flexed her muscles during a post-skate scrum following the senior pairs short program Friday night at the 2009 BMO Canadian figure skating championships.

 

And fittingly so.

 

An impressively-ripped Duhamel, along with partner Craig Buntin, are in fantastic shape heading into today's free skate.

 

Duhamel and Buntin, who train in St. Leonard, Que., posted a personal-best score of 65.74 to take a somewhat surprising lead over 2008 world bronze medallists Jessica Dube and Bryce Davison.

 

"Holy Beep!" Duhamel said of the generous marks.

 

If fans and media are surprised by the first-placing showing, Duhamel and Buntin are not.

 

"We've been together a year and a half and this is where we want to be right now," Buntin said. "It's a little over a year before Olympics and those marks now are starting to look like solid international marks. We're right on track.
