Hey. I'm sick as can be right now. I'm looking to get general advice.

Heres the scoop:

So it all started with 3 mosquito bites on monday. Tuesday, one got the size of a silver dollar, the other about 3 silver dollars with a 6" red line trailing off of it. So last night, I went to the doctor. All the body aches, head aches, coughing, mucus, and random changes in temperature got to me. I thought I got west nile, but the doc says it doesn't happen this time of year, even though I caught one in my room.

So they thought I'm just having an allergic reaction to this particular mosquito. They gave me benedryl and a general potent all inclusive anti-biotic.

Well, I feel like crap. I've skipped all my classes this week, and am just drinking tea, watching movies, and sleeping. I'm not sure what makes me so out of it, but I gotta start working soon, and I'm not really that safe to drive.

I'm not finding any foods appealing. I get some cravings, but they're gone before I eat, or I only take 2 bites. Maybe I'll try another smoothie. That worked the other day.

Any general advise as to what to eat or these symptoms?

Thanks a lot. I figured you all would know a lot together.

If your mosquito bites are that huge I'd say you are probably allergic to them too! But if the Benadryl isn't working it makes me wonder..

Last summer I got sick after getting a mosquito bite in Alberta. I thought it was West Nile too but I only had a fever for one day. The rest of the symptoms took a week to go away.

I agree with Zinzen, that you should go back to the doctor. If you aren't getting better after this long, you should definitely seek a second opinion.

I suggest finding an immunologist, if you don't start feeling better soon. If you have a teaching hospital/university medical center near you, check that out. There will be researchers available who are better versed in marginal illnesses/symptomology and will know the appropriate diagnostic path to look down. That and detox...thats always helpful-lots of raw fruit and veggies, green juices, green smoothies, mostly or all raw....How are you doing now?
