beforewisdom
This is amazing. I remember seeing the same thing last year. The book has been out for a few years now. It is incredible that it is still so strongly popular.
robert
Rory rocks! I don't know the other co-author, but I know Rory and she is very cool!
beforewisdom
I agree. I met her at an AR conference in North Carolina about about a year or two ago. Very charming woman and a great conversationalist.
Fallen_Horse
Hmm, sorry but the book is a little too sensationalist for my tastes. Seems to be very similar to what PETA does to get attention. Lots of pushing peoples buttons and very little explanation of the moral value system on which veganism is based...
beforewisdom
The difference between Skinny Bitch and a PETA campaign is that Skinny Bitch is working. This has to be the second year Skinny Bitch is on the best seller list. I've met women in real life who went vegan(diet) because of the book and I have met a number of women online who went on a vegan diet and then became a vegan as a result of Skinny Bitch. I'm sure it happens, but I can't recall meeting anyone on or offline who said "I went vegan because of the banned PETA superbowl commercial or their latest publicity stunt". I do have problems with nutrition information in the book. However at the end of the day it is making more vegans and people who live off of vegan diets. Aaron
However at the end of the day it is making more vegans and people who live off of vegan diets. Healthier people and healthier animals. I'd take more of both.
FormicaLinoleum
Apparently, Rory and Skinny Bitch are the reason Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi went vegan.
