Lg Science: Lipotropic Protein NOT VEGAN SAFE ANYMORE

Recommended Posts

NOTE: It looks like they've added Whey, Egg, and Milk protein to the mix now. I just bought three, and saw the label was different, so I took the time to read the ingredients. SOOOO MAD. More and more products are making alterations to their recipes thus rendering them not vegan safe. Grrrr.

NOTE 2: LG Had this to say:

To be honest with you, we really didn't want to revise the formulation either. However, we just found too many inconsistancys with the raw Pea protein material, we tried several different companies from around the world, and we continued to find too many issues with the raw material, so by adding in the whey protein, that helps support the product protein content wise. By adding in the whey protein, it actually makes the product more expensive to create, which hurts us as well, but we felt that we needed a protein on the market, and by putting out a inferior product that doesn't adhere to our standards just wasn't something we could live with.

I was buying some more of my Heartland Gold Rice Protein the other day, and happened to mention to the guy at Popeye's (The large Supplement store in Canada) that I'm vegan. He told me they're going to start carrying the Lipotropic Protein as soon as he works out the details with the supplier. I'm definitely getting some when it comes it, but I'm wondering if anyone has tried it yet?

Canada can suck sometimes when it comes to Vegan supplements, so anything vegan that comes in I usually give 'er a whirl.

sound sinteresting. I looked it up on this website It's basically protein powder but with green tea extract for fat burn benefits. What exactly do they mean by Sativum. They say their protein comes from sativum, I don't know what this is and I searched it on wikipedia, dozens of different plants end with this binomial name.

It doesn't seem very expensive and I would give it a try but there is sucralose, so no thanks.

Anyone tried Prairie Naturals Hemp Force Organic Dark Chocolate Protein powder ? The best protein powder I ever tasted, it's so good that we must resist to not drink to much of it, it,s like drinking chocolate soy milk but a fancy one, tastes like chocolate not just sugar.

It's Gemma protein with some betain added in, unless the U.S. version is different (we get all the watered down Canadian stuff from LG, Muscletech etc.)

It doesn't taste too bad, thick like Gemma protein generally is.

There's saccharin in it though which I'm not a fan of, hence I stick to Nitrofusion.

Gemma. They're trying to avoid saying flat out "This is a plant protein". Apparently people at BB.com aren't a fan of that sort of terminology.

I wish they carreid Nitrofusion around here. Canadian shipping rates blow. Once you add $20US for shipping then do the conversion for the whole order, even $30 for 5lbs of Nitrofusion ends up costing close to $70. As much as I love Canada, they need to get their supplement act together, haha.

That isn't too bad actually, considering it is $85-$90 here in Australia for the 5lb

I was speaking to the LG distibutor here in Aus and he thinks the reason LG are going to be adding in the whey protein is for taste reasons.

I've never really been into the LG line of products (too many prohormone like supplements and stupid marketing) but now the one product they had which I didn't mind has been screwed up.
