Microwaving food...

Rainra, don't take offense to this but you believe too much bullshit.

Microwaves are about as dangerous as radiowaves. When vitamin C and B6 content of foods was studied, using different cooking methods, microwaving came above both boiling and steaming. It's basically the same story with every B vitamin. The regular ovens have even shorter wavelegnths. Ionizing radiation is so much shorter and to lump those two together is stupid.

Why not just follow the advice in

to get rid of all those microwave produced toxins?

If you google "dangers of microwave food" you get a full page of typical uninformed crap websites before finding quality information such as:

https://www.health.harvard.edu/healthbeat/HEALTHbeat_081606.htm#art1

http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/consumer/microwave.html

Automobiles are far more dangerous than microwaves. Especially if you eat microwaved food while text messaging and driving.

I don't take offense

I just like to be skeptic. It's all good!

I guess now is avoid things that are not really necessary if they are not as natural as possible. By this meaning as food was intended to be eaten. As little as cooked possible and eating as much greens and avoiding all these other machines to heat food. Plus bottom line heated food in a pot taste better than cooked in a microwave.

Here at home the only reason we use microwaves is to heat water.

And not to be offensive, but I think that the cultivated crops we all eat today are meant to be eaten cooked, raw or both. Everything about modern food production has been altered by humans to the point that what we are "meant" to do with it is a mute point. If we are "meant" to eat tropical fruits in winter months, produced by huge agricultural corporations and stored for weeks before purchase, well then why aren't we meant to microwave, bake, broil, freeze, etc. other foods?

If we're going to be natural then we better do away with synthetic clothing, synthetic shoes, air conditioning, computers, televisions, airplane travel, shampoo, shaving cream, deodorant, medications and all the other wonderful luxuries that man has brought us. Why only go natural when it comes to food?

Again, not trying to be offensive, but I see this quest for what's "natural" often and the inconsistencies in the whole thought process is amazing to me. I see it in my family and friends (and myself) as well as on forums.

Well if you define natural that means being its original state. Or it can mean environmental, or unaltered.

There is a lot of debates about heating methods. But how about quality of nutrient absorbed? Maybe in raw carrot you absorb 40 percent and in cooked you absorb 60 percent but what if that 60 is altered and less potent Beta carotene than raw Beta carotene. What if they are not the same in every way. I got my antioxidant level tested and it was really high. I eat 65 0r so raw now (basically all veggies and fruits are raw eating it with some cooked grains) my girlfriend had her's done an it was off the charts and she eats closer to 90 percent of her food ( she eats larger amounts of raw veggies and fruits and eats cooked on occasion. If someone here gets their antioxidant levels checked eating almost all cooked food and has a high score I will be more than happy to accept that cooking all veggies is just as good but honestly I just don't really know, so I will not say yes is truly better. I am just trying to seek what is optimal. Just like many of you. I still love the taste of cooked just and if I revert from microwaving my food it might just be that much better for me.

We eat 99 percent organic which after are test shows that the food we eat has plenty of nutrients and it is not soil depleted.

Either way only time will tell.

I'm with you here. It's a bit more difficult to judge how to cook something "properly" in a microwave, so the chances of you nuking its nutritional value to all hell is much higher. I personally avoid the microwave when I can, but due to my working circumstance I've had to use it a lot more. To me, it's just not cooking if it's done in the microwave...but that's my personal opinion.
