Thursday, February 4th:

 

Hectic day...husband in for septoplasty...spent a lot of the day at the hospital. He's home and passed out now.

 

AM: 35 min. swim....some freestyle, mostly Total Immersion drills

 

Smoothie (spinach, papaya, frozen fruit, flax, protein powder)

Salad (romaine, radish, cucumber, celery, carrot, mustard dressing), leftover chickpea loaf & gravy, orange

Banana

Lentils

Friday, February 5th:

 

AM:

Deadlifts supersetted with negative chins

89 x 5 // BW x 5

Felt weak on the negative chins today.

 

Incline DB press supersetted with DB Bulgarians

5K on treadmill (29:51)

 

Noon: 30 minute swim (freestyle)

He's starting to get a little bit better today...still mostly in bed. The first 3 days were pretty brutal...wow.

 

Weekend sucked workout-wise...between bed-ridden husband, volunteer orientation at cat shelter, and running errands, didn't get time to get to the gym.

 

Monday, February 8th:

Noon: 50 min. swim (freestyle...took it slow and concentrated on balance)

PM: stretching, abs, some push-up stuff

Black bean soup, roasted broccoli, orange, 1 date

Wednesday, February 10th:

 

AM: Ran 9K on treadmill (58:19)

 

Noon: 30 min. swim - freestyle

 

2 dates (pre-run)

Smoothie (spinach, protein powder, flax, frozen fruit, banana) (post-run)

Salad (romaine, cucumber, celery, radish, carrot, mustard dressing), 1/2 banana, 1 date (pre-swim)

Bean soup, orange (post-swim)

Veggie & tofu stir-fry, quinoa, orange

Thursday, February 11th:

 

AM: 38 min. swim (Total Immersion drills)

 

PM: planned on doing a yoga DVD, but was really exhausted. Some stretching, push-ups, ab stuff instead. About 20 min.

 

1 date (pre-swim)

Smoothie (spinach, protein powder, frozen fruit, banana) (post-swim)

Salad (romaine, carrot, cucumber, celery, radish, mustard dressing), leftover tofu stir-fry, 4 dates

Quinoa with black beans and bell pepper, kale chips, steamed broccoli, orange

Diet not that great...doing baking for a bake sale for an animal shelter, ended up "taste testing" too much.

I'll give that a try. How much rest between the repeats do you figure?

 

Saturday, February 13th:

 

Spin class cancelled today. Sucks. Couldn't stomach the thought of the stationary bike. Instead I went to two bike shops to price out a roadie. One wasn't so helpful, the other one doesn't have one that would fit me in my price range, but he gave me the 2010 Cannondale catalogue and said he could order something in. There are two other shops in town, I'm going to go check those out next Saturday.

 

Smoothie (spinach, soy milk, protein powder, banana, frozen berries)

Salad (romaine, chickpeas, cucumber, carrot, celery, radish, mustard dressing), chickpea-cauliflower curry, orange

Jambalaya, refried beans, pineapple

Ideally I would say about 90 second to 2 minutes and about 4 to 5 repeats. So I looked through Tal Ronnen's cookbook yesterday and I think you would really like it. There are some really nice looking recipes in there. Lots for me to try. I'm doing a few today. But a good portion of the recipes are time consuming ones.
