dropSoul
I'm getting old, but I'm looking younger. After seeing CandyFlip (Cecilia) progress photos, I'm really inspired. These are not vegan links, but they're still inspirational. By now most of know about stumptuous.com, but I'm posting it again. http://www.stumptuous.com/old-broads-the-golden-years-of-pumping-iron 74 years old:http://www.stumptuous.com/images/newlin_bber.jpg Here's some more:Mother in her late 70s and daughter in her 40s -- too ripped for my taste, but still rocking awesome. http://www.agelesstraining.com http://www.agelesstraining.com/4sale/003.jpg http://homepage.mac.com/wansjo/PhotoAlbum71.htmlhttp://homepage.mac.com/wansjo/.Pictures/Gymbilder/arbdrag8.jpg Please add to this thread. I love that I discovered this site in my 40s and decided to start now. The mom in the mother and daughter team started when she was 52 and amazing transformations happened. Marcina
So cool!I wonder if I can get that ripped on a vegan diet?
dropSoul
Sure, there's some ripped women on the profiles page. It's just that the diet (omni or vegan) is soooo strict and so much protein (likely 1.5 g per lb) and so few carbs. Our lower bodies are not meant to be that ripped, our fat is the survival of the species and our prehistoric systems are built to hold on to it. Marcina
I have plenty of fat and I still don't get my period. Maybe my ovaries are broken?
Theresaann
dropsoul-you are NOT getting old, haha Thanks for posting those....I was just telling my boyfriend (who just figured out, "hey, you are one of those workout girls, aren't you?" duh...I've only been doing this consistently for 10 months....thats why they have a Y chromosome...little piece "missing"....lol). All you youngsters out there, I've been doing this for 10 months, and look now like our 70 year old friend posted here, and at almost 45, people think I'm in my twenties all the time. ITs so FUN! I do highlight my hair to cover the gray, and I don't drink or smoke, so my skin looks better, but let me tell you, this IS the fountain of youth! keep it up and you'll be ageless!! peace
Ruz
So cool!I wonder if I can get that ripped on a vegan diet?People only ever get THAT ripped for competitions. Sure, you could do it on a vegan diet, especially if you were taking a lot of low carb protein supplements...but why bother putting yourself through hell and compromising your health if you are not competing?Personally, i don't even find it attractive. I agree.I would like to be more in between. Like that woman with the short hair and tattoo. I wouldn't dare try to be in competition shape all the time. That's unhealthy! I agree totally, but you probably ARE like her now as regards bodyfat levels.I hate this unhealthy obsession people have with fat! Even here, the muscle competitions are often won by the most ripped and not the most muscular! Girl, you need a little bit of fat to put on decent muscle!! I'm at about 15% now and you can still see my abs...a little bit of fat is attractive..especially on a woman so don't be scared of it!
Marcina
Oh I've definitely put more fat one since I started bulking in June. However, I've been having stomach issues the past week and the only foods I can eat are bananas, oatmeal, and salad.
