MartinVegartin
This must be a difficult group to join. The Bar-barians are a team of elite bodyweight specialists, founded on the goal of achieving physical perfection while providing the ability to motivate, inspire, train and treat our members and guests with respect and professionalism. Bar-barians was founded in 2004, in Brooklyn, New York. To become a member you need to prove - video proof - that you can do the following: 1. 40 Dips.2. 20 Pull ups.3. 50 Press ups.4. 5 Muscle ups. All within 6 minutes! All must be done with straight form, no breaks between exercises, any order except muscle ups must be at the end. I wouldn't fancy even trying to do it. Hmm....I probably used to be able to do that, although the time limit on that is pretty tough, especially if you're trying to pull off perfect form...but I've lost a great deal of muscular endurance since I started lifting (I used to be a bodyweight freak). Plus I've never done a muscleup in my life, but there's only 5 of them. And, actually, I've never really done dips either, but I do tricep pushdowns. Idk, I think I could do that. Pullups would take like 20 seconds tops. Pushups would take 40-45. The muscleups there's only 5 so I can't imagine that taking more than 15-20 seconds. The dips are what's time consuming but if you subtract out the other stuff you've still got a few minutes to do them. edit:they've got a bunch of videos of people attempting the requirements up:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpzJLT-chek&feature=player_embedded I think it sounds a lot more difficult than it is, once you watch them. Of course if I had a nickel for every time i said something looked easy.
MartinVegartin
But, being a vegan, you have an advantage over puny meat scoffers. You should have to carry a 25lb disc in a back pack to even things out a bit.
Addai
I used to be a pullup freak a year back. I actually got to the point where I had 40 pounds in my backpack, and i'd do 10 sets of 10 reps like that. pushups like that too. but at that weight the straps got frankly painful doing pullups, and with pushups it killed having that weight balancing on my back. that's the point i decided i'd start using the gym, and here i am. MartinVegartin
Very impressive. The most I managed in chin ups, before injury made me start again with body weight, was 35lbs for 8 sets of 3.
Addai
My bad, I lied. When I said pullups, I meant chinups.
