Soy giving me gas?

Recommended Posts

Is it possible for Soy Protein to give gas?

The soy protein I use is from the brand name "Genisoy"

its ingredients is

-Soy protein isolate

-Soy Fibre

-Rice Flour

-Flavours

per one scoop i get 25 grams of protein.

I just started using this about a week and a half ago, and I have notice a bit of gas from me sadly... It is the only thing that is really new that I have incorporated into my diet. So...does Soy protein give gas? Has any one else experience this?

Thanks for your time

Soy is really high in fiber, fiber makes you fart. It's not all bad though, by having lotsa fiber you help your digestive system work, lower insulin levels on your bloodstream and feel less hungry.

But what about other foods high in fiber? Like carrots? or other bean sources. I believe it must be the processing of the Soybean that is giving me gas. I am fine with bean sources that are just beans and have not been processed in any way, but with Soy protein...I think it is different. Any ways, thank you all for your comments ^_^

Soy is reaaally high in fiber. What's strange though, is that when I'm cutting I practically live on soy beans, tofu and tvp, and I get by just fine, but when I'm not I have to save my beans for the weekends. It's a real bummer, I love having beans, it's a great food, and brazilian people have beans on a daily basys... must have something to do with gases on beans or something.
