Fungitarian
I always heard Hitler was a veggie. I'm not sure about the no drugs part (although i figure testing toxic gas on people counts as facilitating drug use) but he didn't hurt any bunnies
Rob PMFF
He wasn't a fascist either. He hated fascism. So...
beforewisdom
Hitler was not a vegetarian. This is an old mistake and an urban legend. Ryn Berry even wrote an entire book on the subject you can get from Amazon. If you google around on "was Hitler a vegetarian" you will find many, many essays debunking that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adolf_Hitler%27s_vegetarianism#Questioning_Hitler.27s_vegetarianism
xorcist
The story that I heard was that Hitler ate a lot of sausages and did a lot of meth.

Vegan Joe
And so is the point of the story is?"If you lie about your vegetarian diet, and drug consumption, you're libel to be a sick demented bastard."?
Duncan_Idaho
From Wikipedia: In a diary entry dated April 26, 1942, Joseph Goebbels described Hitler as a committed vegetarian, writing, "An extended chapter of our talk was devoted by the Führer to the vegetarian question. He believes more than ever that meat-eating is harmful to humanity. Of course he knows that during the war we cannot completely upset our food system. After the war, however, he intends to tackle this problem also. Maybe he is right. Certainly the arguments that he adduces in favor of his standpoint are very compelling."[12]
CollegeB
The Nazis had the strongest animal welfare laws of the day. I don't think it means anything other than they believed in the power of certain animals due to their mythical religious beliefs so they wanted some protections. Hitler did not hate Fascists as he was allied with Moussolini....a fascist by all accounts. The nazi party is opposed to communism. They still are. They still are. Yeah they were allies, but the way I learned it in history class is that they hated each other as well. Political cartoons and such...maybe it was just propaganda (or propagandhi). CollegeB
I'll buy that. I often wondered why Germany and Japan were allies. The US allied with Russia. So definitely alliances don't mean an agreement in philosophy. They seem to be more practical. Enemy of an enemy is a friend kind of situation.
