willpeavy
What's your 1 set max reps in pushups? --------- Here's an example of proper form: http://www.c4lifefitness.com/animation/rpusv.GIF Edited January 22, 2006 by willpeavy
willpeavy
I just did a set of 40 I bet a bunch of people on here can beat that. Who's going to be the first to best it?
Daywalker
I never lock my elbows when i do push ups (or any other pressing movement), it makes no sense and puts only stress on the joint while taking it off the muscles. I used to be able to do 100, back in the days when i did endless sets of 80-100 every day, but i haven't done a single pushup since this one day last year when i tried to do as many in a day as possible So, i'm not going to top your 40 Will
willpeavy
Edit: I put an image in the first post in case there is any confusion about form Edited January 22, 2006 by willpeavy
Richard
I once did 50, that was about 4 years ago. Recently, I max 40. I want to get back up to 50, that was cool. 50 seems a good number for some reason
robert
I think I did 74 once, but I've been known to do "half" push-ups, so I'll focus on full extension and see if I can beat you! -Rob

neil
keep your back and legs straightdude! i recently learned (from my chiropractor) how wrong i was doing them -- major sag in the middle of the body. i used to do them quick and loose, trying to crank out as many as possible. now that i do them with proper form and slowly, i get shakey around 10. the results do feel better, though. Phoenix
Slap!!! I accept your challenge sir! Actually it will be a good baseline for me as I start my routine. Wait a minute..... you're doing American pushups and I'm doing Canadian pushups, does that mean my 1 pushup is only worth about 85% of your 1 pushup or are we going to be on par??? willpeavy
Haha! Yeah, I've heard about Canadian pushups. Since you're at a higher latitude you can add a 15% latitude bonus to your pushups so they'll be equal
