julia
Here's what I made for lunch today: Even my mum who's always very skeptical about low-fat vegan food loved them
VelvetVoices
Sweet I've always wanted to make my own tortillas.

lobsteriffic
I love making my own tortillas - they taste so much better than the ones at the grocery store that are packaged and full of preservatives and stuff. Every year for Christmas I ask for a tortilla press but I never end up getting one. Probably for the best, I think I would eat them all of the time, too. If you make a big batch they freeze well. Jennie
Those look delicious!! Do you have a special healthier recipe than normal flour tortillas? If so, can I bother you for it? edit: Oh, I just noticed the caption, sorry!

Also you can sub white wheat flour in and it should be fine....
julia
@ Jason X: Thanks!@ Jennie: I think whole wheat or spelt flour should work as well. Like Fallen_Horse has suggested, I used olive oil instead of veg. shortening. "Even vegetables are good in these!" I had to laugh about that as well
lobsteriffic
Whole wheat pastry flour works well in tortillas. If you just use plain whole wheat they are pretty tough though.
