katz
Banana is what I eat as well - actually, about 1/2 a banana. I don't have a good workout with a lot of food in me...
vege
BANANA'S THE BEST!I'm one of those people that can kill for food in the morning. I workout from 10 AM. Before gym, an hour or so, I eat 5 bananas, and after that another 5 or more. Same with other fruit, I eat a lot before I workout. Maybe watermelons are the only fruit I wouldn't recommend too much before gym, too watery... The important thing is that fruit has to be very ripe to be easy on your stomach. That means bananas almost black from the outside, not the perfect yellow ones.
Zack
I think it's better to eat a non-fruit carb source before training.

I sometimes blend overcooked brown rice and just one or two bananas before workout, and I noticed it gives me more constant steady energy - it's because rice is complex sugar and it releases itself slowly in blood stream. Fruit gives you instant energy, maybe it's better to eat tons of fruit after the exercise

BlueRose
Bananas are awesome. I have them for breakfast in my Vega drink and in my protein smoothies along with pineapple and brown rice protein powder.
