I am happiest when I have a big loaf of sprouted bread to smother in peanut butter, hummus, or lentil stew. I am also consistently happy with huge bowls of oats and Quinoa, fresh fruits and vegetables, and tall cold glasses of plain soymilk. I have to force feed myself nuts, seeds, and olive oil. They just feel 'out of place' in my diet. I don't enjoy them at all. I feel like I have a really good handle on instinctive eating, I never enjoyed meat eggs or dairy, and I don't miss the taste, smell, or texture one bit. But it feels like my body is screaming at me to stop eating certain things and driving me harder and harder to consume other things. If I try and resist breads I get really cranky and end up binging on half a loaf before feeling satisfied. If I try and cut carbs out of my diet my power at the gym shit cans. Am I beast programmed to consume carbohydrates, or am I addicted to them? I am always hearing how carbohydrates are bad, but the less fat I eat and the more carbs I consume the lower my body fat gives. HALP. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

And I've always enjoyed pasta and noodles and bread and barley and oats and plain cereals more than anything. Maybe it's just what I am programmed to eat. I'm going to try a very low fat high carbohydrate high protein diet for a while and see what happens. Sucks though, I just bought 30 bucks worth of bulk walnuts and almonds. Consider yourself lucky! If I ate all the bread I wanted (and oh how I want...), I would be a large lady indeed. Have you tried mixing the nuts in with your oats or quinoa? I do great on tons of carbohydrates because of my screaming fast metabolism, but poorly on tons of fat, I get sluggish and tired. I was doing some thinking today and I decided to split the bulk of macro switch between grains and fruit. I'm going to keep a tbsp of nut or seed butter, a tbsp of flax seed, and half a tbsp of olive oil to keep my calories up and my skin and hair healthy, but I replaced the rest of my fat calories with carbs. I am going to see if I can make my own almond or walnut butter with the nuts I currently have. I like to buy as much of my food as possible in bulk. Also, I want to buy my own barley, buckwheat, and wheat berries and try my hand at making unleavened bread. Here's the plan. Breakfast: 8oz Soymilk, 1 Serving of Fruit, 1/2 TBSP Ground Flaxseed or Hempseed Post Workout: 1 Serving of Fruit, 18g NTFV/15g Protein Powder Lunch: 1 Serving of Fruit, 28g Nut Butter Dinner: 325g Legumes or Beans, 1/2 TBSP Olive Oil, 225g Vegetables, 2 Slices of Sprouted Bread Snack: 100g Oats or Quinoa with Stevia Bedtime: 18g Now True Food Vegan, 15g Protein Powder, 1/2 TBSP Ground Flaxseed or Hempseed Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
