blueduckxx
as bodybuilders, how much sodium is appropriate?I find that usually mine is under 2000, 1046 today, is that too little?I know we need it everyday, just wanted to make sure mine wasn't under [MyPlate recommends 2185 mg??]
Fallen_Horse
The recommended LIMIT is 2400mg/day, but the recommended intake is 1500mg/day. I would personally stay above 1000mg/day, but I don't have a good study to back up that number....
blueduckxx
Yeah getting sodium isn't usually a problem for me, thanks for the input!!
AlexNLP
I believe it's like Fallen_Horse said. 1500 mg per day should be fine. Personally I noticed I was barely reaching 700 daily cause I don't eat junk/processed food. So There are days I would add some salt here and there. WHOA, that's insanely low. how in the world?I even had days where my sodium was as low as 400mg.Well basically all the natural stuff don't have too much sodium in them. Vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts, seeds etc... not much sodium there. I don't eat all the tofu, saiten stuff, my only soy product is unsweetened soy milk. and I usually don't add salt when cooking. But as I said I think it's too low so I've started using salt sometimes.

AlexNLP
I am mostly into endurance/running so I am not looking to bulk up too much. It's high in carbs, might be low in protein for people who wanna bulk up. Though I was able to build at least some upper body muscles for the last 2 months. Here we go 2 days of my nutrition.http://www.picpaste.com/menu1-0VssDGqM.jpghttp://www.picpaste.com/menu2-2RLaKLFQ.jpg It's pretty much varied, there are days where I'd eat quinoa, Barley, lentils, mash beans, pasta and more. Qternocq
I put a lot of salt on my evening diner. Maybe not as much as my parents in law (lol) but still more than I did before I went vegan. During the day I take smoothies with raw veggies/fruit and raw .. uh grains? (not sure how to say that in English, but its like muesli). I used to add soy protein, but nowadays I add pea-protein. From other posts I realize that this contains a lot of sodium, so I might cut down on the salt in my diner... but I just follow my gut.
