klaatu21
29/04day 58 SQUATS!!! fuck yeah1x8x201x5x401x2x605x5x77.5kg overhead press1x8x101x5x201x2x302/3/3/3/3x37.5kg deadlift1x8x401x5x601x2x851x4x110 so ive decided as i only have 4 weeks left of strong lifts im gonna focus on that and that alone. squats are back, fuck yeah, not a single bit of pain or discomfort, felt really strong. and considering my pr of 80kg was back at 7th of march ive not lost any strength and actually felt stronger. oh press was a bust though, i have had a permanent stitch on my left side just under my ribs for about three days that made me struggle. and i only just failed on my last rep of deads, pissed me off so god damn much. vegan_rossco
Awesome squat and bench bro! By calculations that's a deadlift one rep max of 120KgSquat one rep max of 87.5kgAnd a bench one rep max of 60KgReally good stuff man you would do well on the strength table! How was your weekend dude? Also awesome mileage on your bike, I don't think I'll be able to handle cycling if I'm squatting 3 times a week baha
klaatu21
really?are those actually good numbers? awesome, wasnt too bad, was on nights most of this week, helse the low mileage, got a 50mile ride out planned for saturday that im keeping everything crossed for good weather, how about you? vegan_rossco
Yeah man! And considering the number of sets you're doing also you could potentially lift a hell of a lot more The weather pretty good right now eh, so let's hope it stays that way I need to change my wheels to thinner ones as its currently jusst so slow! So once I've done that I'll clock a few miles.. Depending on leg/butt soreness from squats bahaha
vegan_rossco
Ps after you finish stronglifts you should test your maxes and see how strong you've got
klaatu21
how would i test my maxes? padded cycling shorts is the best advice id give, haha
vegan_rossco
Just get yourself warmed up and then try and deadlift/squat/bench as much as you think you can for one rep, if you can do it add more weight until you can't lift it at all. Make sure you have a spotter though ahha, you won't need one for deads though obviously
klaatu21
how long should i rest between attempts?
vegan_rossco
I would say just give yourself as much time as you need, normally I take at least 2-3 minutes
klaatu21
Sweet, I've pencilled it in for the end of may as I won't be upping my lifts in June just keeping them the same as I'll be cutting but trying not to lose lean mass, would that be the right thing to do? klaatu21
And should I still do some warm up reps like normal? Sorry for all the questions I just like to plan ahead
vegan_rossco
Sounds good to me dude for warm up I would say just a couple of light/medium sets would be okay around the 6-8 rep range, sorry for the late reply dude!
klaatu21
Don't worry about it man:) what kind of weight would you recommend for the warm ups? I don't want to go too heavy and sell my self short on the heavy lifts but I don't want to go too light and not be warmed up enough
vegan_rossco
Jeeeeez I'm not sure man, start with a real light weight and then on the second warmup set do a weight you know you can perform for 6-8 reps, you can always do some more if you don't feel warmed up enough but it shouldn't be a problem man I'm looking forward to seeing how you do
klaatu21
You and me both brother, would the warm ups I'm doing at the minute be ok? I've just realised I've got critical mass the same day as I'm gonna be working out my maxes, I'm gonna be dead by the end haha
