Using plastic waste as plane fuel!

This is so cool, I think humans are intelligent enough now that we can figure out how to do pretty much anything (I bet we could have cured aids 20 years ago). If only we could get our government to implement these amazing things to help save our planet before its too late.

Actually, the article states that the distillation procedure is clean, not the burning of the fuel. It is still hydrocarbon fuel (diesel) in an internal combustion engine, and as such will still produce all the same products when burned. However, using end-of-life non-recyclable plastic that would otherwise just sit in a landfill for 1000 years as viable fuel is a good step in the right direction.
