A thread where we can post up our running photos and inspire people to get out there and connect with nature

I'll start the thread off...

Time for a quick sit down and a bit of food after climbing 1,100ft in just 4km

This when I was running through the Hoon Hay Reserve, reminded me of the Malvern Hills back home in the UK

Thiis was taken from inside an old house known as 'Sign of the Bellbird' that was built in the early 1900's. It's built of stone but appeared to have survived all of our earthquakes unscathed. Don't build houses like this one anymore!

VEGAN CALVES !! Just about to head down that track in the background, was really technical, tricky, winding... and so much fun

I really like this photo, about 2/3 of the way through the run. Christchurch lies in the background

I'm going to play the Google Maps game with your photos. Tell me how close I am.

First picture:

https://maps.google.com/maps?q=-43.608456,172.643945&hl=en&ll=-43.608779,172.64482&spn=0.004378,0.004613&num=1&t=h&z=18

Second picture:

This is a tough one, due to lack of landmarks. Only good clues are the faint whitecaps at about 1 o'clock and not a lot of buildings/city-center (so you are probably facing westerly as opposed to Northerly towards Christchurch) and the tag of Hoon Hay Reserve. I can't seem to line it up right on google maps, although time of year might be different between your photo and google maps.

Third photo:

a distinct landmark, so that's too easy.

Fourth photo:

no chance, no large-scale landmarks.

Fifth photo:

Pretty tough also, I've already spent too much time doing this.

OK, how'd I do?

Maybe rename this thread to "Where's MF Challenge"? LOL

Wow, looks like you are pretty much bang on with that one. Good work Sherlock

Not too far off at all, this was the entrance I went in at and I took the photo just past that stile you can see:

Fourth and fifth photo would have only been less than 1km from the third photo (it's the same rock in both photos).

I should change your username to Hercule Poirot haha. Very impressive MF.

I'm running this race again in March, it's a stunningly beautiful (and brutal) off road marathon with killer hills and freezing knee-high river crossings. The course is ran through private land that is only open to the public once every year ~ for this race

Here are a few shots I took when I ran it a few years back...
