willpeavy
I started an article on wikipedia called "vegan athletics." If you haven't used wikipedia before, it's a free encyclopedia that anyone can use and edit. So if you're into that kind of thing, please login to wikipedia and edit or add to the article! Right now all it has is a short paragraph and a few pictures. Article link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegan_athletics
robert
Cool Will! Thanks for putting a pic of me in there I'm heading off to work until Midnight, but I'll check on it more carefully later on. Take care, I'm outta here in a bit.
Odidnetne
Wait, we can all do little edits on it? If that's not the case, I'd definitley throw a few words in there. I always wanted to do an article on wikipedia, but for the most part, with that site, it seems that if it exists, someone else already wrote an article about it. Richard
As far as I know, all articles on wikipedia can edited and stuff. But there are moderators who check that it's not complete bullshit, like if you deleted the whole article and replaced with 'monkey monkey monkey eyeballs' then it would be reset to what it was previous because they'd get complaints, or the mods would see it's clearly nonsense. I think that's how it works anyway

willpeavy
I updated it today. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegan_athletics So far I'm the only one that has made any updates on it. Everyone else on here - you should add to it too because wikipedia.org is the 17th most popular site on the Internet. So it's a good place to share information

endcruelty
fyi....... i think someone has deleted the page...... i got a message saying this:Hi, the site you are adding seems to be a personal blog. That's not appropriate for a Wikipedia article. If I'm wrong, do please let me know on my talk page and/or the Animal Rights talk page. Cheers. Odidnetne
I'm going to add something to it sometime soon, as soon as I get some time. I agree, it's fun to just browse Wikipedia. If it exists, someone has written an article for it.
endcruelty
i just read this on the wikipedia site for this article "It is proposed that this article be deleted, because of the following concern: indiscriminate combination of concepts. Vegans do sports, just like Jews and Republicans. Not an independent topic. If you can address this concern by improving, copyediting, sourcing, renaming or merging the page, please edit this page and do so. You may remove this message if you improve the article, or if you otherwise object to deletion of the article for any reason. To avoid confusion, it helps to explain why you object to the deletion, either in the edit summary or on the talk page. The article may be deleted if this message remains in place for five days (This template was added: 3 May 2006). If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article so that it is acceptable according to the deletion policy."
crashnburn
Wiki is about providing structured and organized, unbiased information. I dont think they would promote any kind of activism. Some good structured insights are essential. The additional links are more supplementary / additional sources of information. Structured PRIMARY CONTENT is important. kuramus
Wiki is about providing structured and organized, unbiased information. I dont think they would promote any kind of activism. lol, unbiased and uncensored the articles resounding the ideas of the mainstream media are shown in a good light and alternative point-of-views are poured with adjectives like "supposedly" and "is claimed". Example: Red meat, such as beef, pork, and lamb, contains many essential nutrients necessary for healthy growth and development in children, as well as for good health and well-being in adults. Many people believe that eating only fruit, vegetables, grains, nuts, legumes, other plants, and fungi is healthier than an omnivorous diet.see what i mean? that's why they deleted the article. it was unbiased, in support of veganism. which is, according to them, biased. wikitruth Every so often a Wikipedian comes to their senses, sees a problem with the way things are operating, and tries to do something about it. Tired of seeing articles carelessly deleted, censored, and then cherry picked as to what is "encyclopedic enough", several Wikipedia members formed "Wikipedians against censorship". Surprise, surprise! We can't have that, now can we?
