Ale6797
I've been working out regularly at 6:30am at the scheduled class time at a crossfit gym for over a year now due to my work schedule. My goal right now is fat loss and after reading "Shred It" i have started doing these workouts before having anything to eat, hopefully i stzrt seeing results soon. Robert Cheeke also mentions working out twice a day to reach fat loss goals. I find this hard for me since i dont get home from work until 9pm and then have to go to sleep pretty much right away if i want any chance of getting 8 hours of sleep since i wake up so early to get to the gym. My question is if i only have between 6:30 and 11:30am when should i be eating and geting my 2 workouts in to see the best fat loss results? Eiji
Working out fasted is not optimal for either performance or weight loss unless you're looking to lose muscle. If that is what was suggested in Shred it I will have to call bro science on that. You don't have enough time in that window for 2 workouts. So 3 cross fit workouts per week and 2 cardio/conditioning sessions is what I would do. The rest will come with diet. Veggies/fruits/grains/beans. No processed foods with the exception of Ezekiel bread and some nut butter as long as it has only one or two ingredients. If you stick to whole foods the fat will melt off brother. HIT Rob
I'd echo Eiji's comments, the number one factor in any fat loss program is the maintenance of lean muscle tissue, for this reason, id recommend getting some anti-catabolic nutrients in your system before intense training. Train when YOU feel ready to train, both phycological and physiologically and not based what time a class starts or what time a trainer can fit you in. Best of luck with your goalsRob

tylerpc73
Personally for me I like getting the work I've done in the morning. I have a huge breakfast and then go to the gym an hour later. If I go too late I will be too tired
