Need some advice...

Hiya Radical Vegetable Eaters!

I'm new to the site, so I'll introduce myself as fairly new to weightlifting. I've been in and out of the gym for the last couple of years, but when I'm not at the gym its because I'm training for a road race or cycling. I've been doing my best to keep up with 5 days a week in the gym this winter and its been going well.

 

I know everyone here cares about this so I'll make it quick: 16 years vegetarian, 6 years vegan, 4 years gluten free, 1.5 years whole foods diet, 2 months almost oil free (if anyone knows how the ____ to make a pancake oil free, plzzzz give me a shout).

 

Okay so *here's what I need help with*: I can not do a hack squat to save my life AND I go to a gym that doesn't have oly bars. I have either a straight bar or a smith machine. Thoughts? Ideas? Can't switch gyms tho. THANKS!!
