BaibaSmite
Hi, I am new to veganism and very confused. I haven't found answers to my question online, but I do need help.Do vegans track carbs?Or is it just-eat a concrete amount of protein and forget about amount of carbs? My macros are:Protein 128GCarbs: 92GFat: 65g If I eat lentils, beans, chickpeas, I will be waaay over carb allowance and way under protein. I understand that there is protein powders, but I can't live on only protein shakes too.The question is-are you guys restricting carbs to lose fat? And is my carb goal too low for vegan diet? jmf
-yes, vegans should track carbs (I do)-I do have a carb target that I treat as a minimum-I do not believe in restricting carbs to lose fat, but carbs should be consumed in volume to keep pace with your daily activities and should come from natural, slow burning sources (iow, they should not induce a big insulin spike)-your carb goal is not too low...that's about the same carb percentage I use in my macros. (but I do run lower fat and higher protein than you)
