luckypenguin
I’m in a situation where I need a second phone number for a short period of time. I’m organizing a large community event, and I want to give participants a way to contact me without sharing my personal cell number. Is there a reliable app that can provide a temporary or additional number for texting and calls? Ideally, it should be easy to manage and affordable. Any recommendations? vtorosort
When I started volunteering to organize a local fundraiser, I didn’t want my personal number getting bombarded with calls and messages. After struggling with apps that didn’t work as advertised, I stumbled on this discussion at https://ask.metafilter.com/375126/Best-cellphone-app-that-gives-you-a-different-cell-number. It was like hitting the jackpot—people shared their real-world experiences with apps like Burner and Hushed, and it made choosing so much easier. I ended up going with Burner because it lets you delete numbers once you’re done, which was perfect for this temporary project. If you’ve been overwhelmed by bad options like I was, this thread might save you a lot of hassle.
palmariums
This is so helpful, and I can’t thank you enough for sharing your experience. Knowing that others have navigated the same challenges and found solutions like Burner really makes it easier to decide. Your insight about the temporary number feature is exactly what I needed for a similar project. I truly appreciate you taking the time to point this out—it’s a big stress reliever! Ripazha
Managing photos efficiently is just as important as taking them, especially if you regularly shoot on a smartphone. While researching this, I came across how to transfer photos from iphone to computer which outlines several simple ways to transfer images, including wireless options like iCloud and AirDrop as well as wired methods. These approaches make it easier to move photos quickly and keep your library organized across different devices.
